Your right. You cant knock a fighter for fighting the best in his division. You CAN knock him for telling another fighter, who is pretty much on-par with him when it comes to professional achievements, that he needs to fight better fighters. Maybe Bute would have fought them if they werent all contracted to the S6 tournament! Maybe not! You can also knock the fans who say he is the best thing since sliced bread when he clearly isnt.

Andre Ward brings a lot to the table. He has great footwork and good speed, plus he is a fantastic inside fighter. Lets leave it at that! He ISNT special and he ISNT great. Hes good and hes the joint best in the division.

Calzaghe should come out of retirement then and fight him. While he's at it might as well rematch Hopkins.

I love how that clip doesnt show how calzaghe had half of those guys down about 10 times before the fight was stopped...I mean come on.. saying Veit 1 was a bad stoppage? have you actually seen that fight in good quality, Veits eyes were rolling into the back of his head, and this was AFTER he scraped himself off the canvas like a guy who'd downed 8 quarts of whiskey. (oh and the ref who stopped that fight was mark nelson..nationality: USA)

there have been some bad stoppages..but please show the full story.

The Manfredo one? ok.. fair enough.. but carlos christie? floored like 5 times (he even floored HIMSELF at one point)

Calzaghe has glass hands, he is not KOing anyone lol. Only thing he has a speed that would give Ward some trouble, but Ward is a far more schooled fighter and in his prime. Glass hands couldnt make a dent in him and would get mauled to a losing decision.

Calzaghe would have never fought Ward, too much of a threat. He prefers old men.

Hate him or love him, Joe was a special fighter. Ward has not shown me enough for me to think he would beat Joe.

He hasn't ever shown that. He beat a prime Lacy, big deal. Other than that he just waited until the special fighters got old. That doesn't make him a special fighter.

In case of Roy Jones this might very well be true. At least Calzaghe made no attempt to go after him. But he did try to land a fight with a younger version of Hopkins and defaeted Eubank, who was not as his best but nowhere near shot. I'd label Eubank as a special fighter.
