When FNF's comes back you guys have to promise to stay up/in and chime in with me. All you youngstars MUST stick around the homestead to watch some FNF's, not turning in and hitting the sack or heading out to the club and chasing them skirts down (you know who you are). I'm trying to get a FNF crew together so we can chop it up. Back in the day I could always count on Ishipedia, Mandanda, Losfer, Sir Kosaros and a few others to get their groove on and watch the Friday card. But man I'm getting amped just thinking about it.
I'm gonna make a FNF's thread in a day or two, Slip.:good Kind of like a preview for whatever the upcoming fight(s) may be, which will probably double as an undercard come fight night, too.
It's just a bit more convenient for those of us who watch it, I think. Last season myself, LHL, and sometimes SportsLeader just did our own discussion in the Choi, hopefully this way other people who watch it(if there even are others) will have somewhere to talk about it too. I'd certainly like to see some new posters involved rather than just us 2/3 week after week. Kennedy-Martin is another fight that'll be sweet.
Haha, I remember saying ages ago - just before both of these fighters careers got temporarily derailed by Mexican journeyman - that either would be a good test for IBF (?) SBW champ Takalani Ndlovu, and I had high hopes that one of them would go on to challenge him and maybe even win the title. How things have changed since then :yep. I'm happy this fight has been made, these 2 guys have had very similar careers; both beat a well regarded unbeaten prospect, an upset in both cases, then when it looked like their careers were on the rise, they themselves were upset by journeyman. It's a great crossroads fight if you ask me. Kennedy always brings it. Martin, not as exciting, but can still mix it up. Should be interesting.
I kid, I kid, cause I love. I'll probably do it tomorrow. Maybe tonight. Who knows, this is a crazy show where anything can go.
Fellas, Thanks for updating a blood brother on the state of the union with regards the new FNF dates coming!!! (It's going up as a wall chart) I'm phening like Pookie in New Jack City for the Brit ESB marinade on all these FNF's seven course showdowns, lol! What's the most competitive match-up? Get that thread running, Jpab. And let's put this ***** into 5th gear Fam and break this mutha the f*** down! Btw, glad to know we might have so many willing soldiers joining the FNF crew. Buckle up fellas, because it's ganna be a bumpy ride!
Hmm, it's an interesting one really. It's hard to guage, for instance, on paper Burgos-Cruz is the match-up of the highest quality on there. If you've never seen Cruz before, ignore his record and write him off at your peril, the dude's in the same mould as an Orlando Salido or Tomas Rojas, he's an appealing fighter with an unappealing record. That said, he's getting old now, meanwhile Burgos has really come into his own with that display against Luis Cruz last time out. He was excellent there against a dude who was hotly tipped - by SportsLeader - and a really sound tecnician, but he came into his own and dominated. He cloaked his left hook brilliantly by flashing his right hand across Cruz, and found a home for it every time he duped Luis into leading with the right hand. He looked far removed from the somewhat lumbering pressure fighter he was seen as before. So, on paper, that should be the most competitve, but when the time comes I don't think it'll transpire that way. Sad to say as I'm a huge Cristobal fan. Though he did looked up to standard against Art Hovhannisyan for the short time it lasted. Frustrating that the headbutt ended matters early, though I'm of the opinion that Art was VERY lucky to receive a draw there. Hopefully Lacandón comes with something like that again, but I can't see it unfortunately. I think we're looking at our season opener in Davis-Lopez and also the aforementioned Kennedy-Martin as our most closely matched contests, with the latter being the more nail-biting, it is Teon Kennedy fighting after all, that dude guarantees sheer excitement no matter what happens. But save this talk for the thread! Hopefully I'll be able to do it tomorrow(or later today, technically).
