I used to love the Bunce Boxing Hour on Setanta. Often I'd listen to the podcast while walking the Dog. It was a great Show. I haven't made it through one Bunce Boxing Hour on Boxnation. If posters are honest it's a terrible show with a cheap set and I'm sick of Buncey kissing arse. I've enjoyed the international fights and been a little disappointed with the domestic stuff. Going Subscription only at the beginning on December was a big mistake as the channel has definately been much worse since we've had to pay for it . If the people behind Boxnation aren't interested in the many intelligent and sensible criticisms on this website regarding the channel it won't last much longer. I'm disappointed in Steve Bunce, he's always portrayed himself as a man of the people but I'm not even sure he'd be much of a boxing fan if he wasn't being paid. I remember him saying on his radio show a while back that he bought Boxing News on a Saturday. Surely for a man who's livelihood depended on his knowledge of the sport, he'd want to read it asap not when it's already out of date.
bunce is a 24 carat oaf, plain and simple.like the man here said, his show just ain't watchable, and if that's bn's flagship show, they might as well hand back the subs and pull the plug on this well intentioned but ****-poorly executed 'specialist' channel before 2012 starts.anyone for cotto/margarito tonight?!
...surely rabbit run has an extensive library of old fight footage down the years he could broadcast on bn,instead of endless repeats of cotto/margarito,cleverly/bellew and walsh/appleby.ffs,you'd tire of watching gatti/ward or hagler/hearns if it was shown every ****ing night!
I've never watched it via the red button. Seen it a couple of times on normal programming. Fact if an Elie Seckbach type person from ESB went to watch Chisora or DeGale train, asked him a few question and then had it edited for 30 minutes, we would watch just like we do on youtube. It's an idea. My point is BN doesn't seem to be doing anything at the moment and that includes barely putting on one fight a week.
You need to pay their costs and that, I expect, is the issue. But there is no reason they couldn't hire a roving reporter... Just not a bloke from the forums, please. You'd get a ****wit like Luscious Lopez out and about pushing a haters agenda.
Tell me there isn't a guy who isn't into boxing and has been studying media, cinema, camera work etc that would love the opportunity. It is easily out there but we've had nothing but Buncey every Monday and with the worst background I've ever seen in history.
You're trying so hard. I really admire it. Some people let their disabilities get in the way of a full, productive life. Well, you haven't quite managed that, but you are giving it your best shot on the internet. Onwards and upwards, yeah? I'm rooting for you. The video stuff is pretty easy with the right equipment (a good DSLR with video, and a Zoom H4n for the audio), then some basic editing. That part's easy. You just need someone who will ask good questions and be prepared to take the time. I think it would be an awesome idea, but with the channel's early wobbles, probably not going to happen.
Then they had Bunce going on about how they had to charge so much a ticket unlike the Peterson v Khan fight which were selling cheaply...take a note from that! They are amateurish, Bunce is a ****ing moron, Lillis talks **** and the programming since going pay has been garbage with on December 2nd having a good card. The link with ****** has killed it for many boxing fans and the lack of keeping their own promises hasn't helped.
Wasn't the original promise that there would be two live shows in a week? A Friday local show and then a decent card on Saturday?
Originally that was the promise...and thats why I kept moaning about December and said I'd wait it out until February. They simply couldn't keep their promise.
Jan: Add in Kirkland v Molina and its not a bad month, worth a tenner. Feb: Chuck in Berto v Ortiz II and Feb looks very good. Mar: Burns and probably Groves / Degale / Gavin out.
What are you talking about? Yesterday was Germany Day, today is USA day, and tomorrow is Liverpool Day. Non-Stop boxing on BoxNation, the new home of boxing on TV.
