Another flawless Whitaker performance was when he moved up in weight to take Rafael Pineda's belt.

I don't recall Floyd backing up against Judah. Floyd seemed to be walking Judah down. It may have been helpful but like you said, he ends up winning. We saw how Floyd used lateral movement on Ricky Hatton late in the fight. I remember one of the Mayweather's (Can't remember which one) saying that in order for Floyd to move around the ring, you have to make him move. Its not like Floyd is lacking in lateral movement. There are plenty of fights as evidence. This honestly proves how good Floyd is if you think about it. In the Hoya fight Floyd changed up his attack in the second half and took over. In the second Castillo fight Floyd used alot of lateral movement. Floyd does what is needed to win. There are fights where Floyd has dominated a fighter with only two punches. He basically dominated Chico with a jab and left hook. The pace of the Hoya fight was the way Floyd wanted it. The fight was slow paced. The only time Hoya could get off was on the ropes. In the center of the ring it was all Floyd. Floyd def had problems with Castillo. The first fight was a Castillo type of fight. In the second fight, the pace was all Floyd. Yeah Ricky brought the fight to Floyd. Ricky was getting beat at his own game but I see what you mean. In the second half of the fight, the pace changed.

Hopkins struggles big time against fighters who make the fight fast paced. That is how you beat Hopkins. 3 of his 5 losses happened that way. That is how Taylor won. Of course some where debatable but that is how you beat Hopkins. I picked Joe to be Hopkins because of that simple reason. Floyd can adjust and beat fighters at their own game. I'm pretty sure Hatton wasn't expecting Floyd to beat him on the inside. The same can be said for Genaro and N'dou. Also Hopkins said Floyd is the best fighter of his era. That should count for something.

He had a really good jab and could fight effectively from the outside and was a really good inside fighter as well

You think Hatton and Oscar were controlling the pace against Floyd? :rofl

You think Oscar and Hatton wanted their fights to turn into pot shot contests?

Did you even ever watch the 1st half and entirety of the second Castillo fight?

Floyd actually got the better punches in than Hatton and Oscar when they were able to back him up to the ropes.

Oscar has an iron chin, but those sneaky bodyshots Floyd pasted him with up close bothered him.

Yeah this is a myth especially when talking about Taylor fights (both of which were bad decisions IMO) not mentioning the Calzaghe fight which was also very close but people forget these are Hopkins POST 40 performances and his stamina isn't what it used to be back in his day he would fight 3 minutes of each round (see the Johnson fight) and he was perfectly able to adapt to any style even now you can see examples of his adaptability, take the first Pascal fight for example where Hopkins had to fight the way JP wanted to fight being slower, smaller and older guy he was forced to follow JP around the ring stalking him and waiting for his moment and after the 2 knockdowns he pressed forward even more but this time he switched his focus to a brutal body attack which quickly killed Pascals movement.

Hopkins believes him and Floyd have the same amount of ring IQ.
