...and back then, Ward was a prospect.

"Pay it forward" comes to mind. :blood

Very Ironic are the words from Ward about the hometown; maybe he consider that fighting in Atlantic city was for him a long exile in a stranger land.

Only time will tell if Ward don't want any part of Buté., but he seems clearly not hurried to meet him.
I can agree that if Buté fights what we call an another big name, it can add to the hype of a Ward-Buté fight, but an unification fight with Buté will always be bigger than a mandatory with Anthony Dirrell, and for spring, Ward seems to prefer Dirrell at Buté.

So big chances that we will see in the spring Ward with Anthony Dirrell.

THe question will be what fight in fall. Ward wants Kessler, but at his conditions. No question that Ward will travel to Denmark. As Ward have said in another interview, he want a big fight in Vegas. The other questions is : Does Kessler want to fight Ward another time in U.S? I think that he will accept. But if Kessler don't want it, it will be another option for a Buté-Ward fight in fall.

I can also see the relevance of this fight ( Ward-Kessler), because of the headbutts controversy and how the first fight ended.

    So, I don't see a Ward-Buté fight before the beginning of 2013

I would prefer if Ward accept the opportunity of fighting Buté in the next spring; Ward has the possibility to unify all the titles this year, but he want a more easy road. OK.

But, if in the beginning of 2013 , Buté is still the IBF champ with one and more big names, and Ward decide to go for another divison, it will be one of the biggest duck in boxing history.

I'm the first to critic you when I think you cross the line. But I have to give you due for this thread, very interesting and professional. Keep the good works.

Time will make all pieces fall into place. One step at a time....first Bute permanently shows Froch has always had ordinary boxing skills, then he'll fight Hopkins and the way he wins that fight will finally give him his well deserved respect.

At that point, Ward will be pressured by either Showtime or HBO to get it on with Bute.

    The rest will be history...

I'm not sure Bute can outfox BHop, even at this stage. That's the fight you see him taking next summer?

Yes it's the fight that may happen in Quebec outdoors. I certainly see him doing to B-Hop what Pascal was incapable of.

Why ? Because B-Hop would not outsmart Bute in the ring, therefore there would be nothing to capatilize on that would effect Bute's gameplan.

I'd like to see what Bute's answers to Nard's defense & rough tactics would be. :think

I would hope that Bute's workrate goes up for such a fight. Hopkins is a pretty efficient counterpuncher when he feels like it.

    ...170? 172?!

Again to all the people who really want to know " Bute is garbage" Some are saying that he should fight kessler, for what? Let's be real here for a minute, Kessler is washed up and done. I rather see Bute challenge martinez to come up even at a catchweight cause I am not sure Bute beats him. I would even pick Paul Williams to give a Bute a good run for his money to beat him probably not, but to expose him most definately. Time and time again, people on here mention Bute like he was a gatti or something. I respect gatti to the fullest for whwt he accomplished, but he too was limited. Bute looks good fighting bums. come on man he gets no points from me until he beats a few names not just ones named Kessler or Froch.

I will **** on Bute until everyone on here gets my point!!! haha!!

Oh ya in case some of you want to know who I am, let's just say I am from Montreal, and in the boxing circles, lol, Bute is so F...... protected, more than the files on who killed Martin Luther King Jr.

You think Martinez and Williams pose tougher tests to Bute than Froch and Kessler? Really now?

B-Hop will not outsmart Bute, are you on drugs, insane, or just plain stupid. Let me get this straight, B-Hop can outsmart almost every fighter placed in front of him except for Bute? Come on man, take Bute's dick out your mouth homie. B- hop has tons of experience on Bute and plus Bute beating B-hop says what, he beat an old man. Pasky2000, you must be from Montreal or quebec right? Shouldn't you be sugar shacking or something and leave the real boxing discussions to real fans?

Fact. Ward has fought 25 fights

FACT Ward has fought FOUR in Oakland.

16% of his fights have been hometown fights. IF you want to count San Jose also, which is about 20 minutes from Oakland that makes 8 fights.

    Facts are weird sometimes.........
