He is now ranked in ring magazine's top ten pound for pound ratings. Such a feat is rare among heavyweights, and the ultimate tip of the hat to their skills.

As far as I know, Vitlai is also the heaviest man ever to be rated, though clarification is needed.

Boxing is in a seriously bad state if he is one of its top 10 fighters across all the divisions - I don't think boxing is in a bad state and I can certainly name 10 fighters across the divisions who I would class as much better fighters all things being equal

Most heavyweight champions with such longevity will make P4P lists, although I don't think he has 1 stand out win, Adamek was ofcourse soundly outboxed by Chad Dawson previously

I wouldn't personally class him as one of the ten best boxers in the world but the ring panel had quite a consensus as to his placing and it is a remarkable achievement.

He is heavier than both wlad and lewis, however when carnera was champ he'd have been considered amongst the top 8 in the world so i'm assuming he holds that title.

I'm still hoping vitali pulls out enough top class victories to overtake wlad's position because this whole mormeck **** is ridiculous.

Surely there has to be someone better and more deserving than Mormeck..this "fight" is worse than a Bum of the Month thing.

What's wrong with Mormeck, he's an ex-Cruser champ and unlike many is actually in shape. Povetkin doesn't seem to want to fight, who else is there?

Did anybody see the Ring 100? It was absolutely atrocious. Getting into the ten is an achievement for sure, but there isn't a great deal in the way of competition.

what has mormeck done in the division. he hasn't done enough to rank himself high enough either.

i didnt mind a quick give me fight before christmas it gives french boxing a boost and allows mormeck to lose and retire in some form of zenith. but after the injury and the prosponed to almost 4 months after:blood. just let it be. get another opponent or/and mormeck another fight in the mean time.

**** all the haters........ V.K. was in great shape at age 40 when he beat the **** outta Tommy Adamek last Sept. on HBO....... V.K. is one of the best fighters you'll ever see age 40 or more years.... He had no more than 3% body fat on him against a trained Adamek.... V.K. is my # 7 man on my ATG heavyweight champ list....... The list dates back to 1887.....

I just hope V.K. remians focused and tuned for Chisora come Feb. 2012.....
