It takes two to fight. Floyds problem has been Arum. Too many of the fighters that people claimed he ducked were Arum fighters. Notice that you would have a hard time making a list of non Arum fighters in that weight range that Floyd didnt fight. Truth is all the fighters were offered fights and all turned them down for one reason or another. Margo was offered as a replacement for Judah. Cotto was offered while both were still with Arum and Arum refused to make the fight. Pac and the whole drug testing thing. All arum fighters all fights that were hard to make.

Arum was once quoted as saying that a fight with Delahoya and Floyd would never get made because they would both want too much money. Arum Exits from floyd the fight gets made in a matter of weeks.

This is all so clear to anyone looking at it with an open mind.

^ According to the year end Ring Magazine rankings, Arturo Gatti was ranked #1 at 2004, published at the end of that year. behind only lineal Kostya. So, he was the #2 140 pounder when Mayweather fought him in June of '05.

The Corley win is a tad underrated too. Not worthy of the mocking, unlike Bruseles. Corley was also ranked Ring #6 at 140 at the '03 years' end. Mayweather beat him in '04. Hey, Chop Chop is in Cotto's top 10 wins plus Judah, Alexander, and Witters' top 8 wins. And he's what, Mayweathers' 17th best at the highest?

Bruseles, well Bruseles is an awful opponent. He would be an okay stay busy fight for the 7-10 guys in a division but for a P4P star? A joke fight indeed.

Hey, I dislike his 140 stay. However, it is not a negative. At all. If he somehow retired for that two year stretch and everything else on his resume was the same, 39-0, he would be at almost the very exact ATG stature as he is now. BUT, the aesthetically beautiful and, don't care what you say, impressive dominance over the legendary figure Gatti plus two other low to mid level opponents in Bruseles and Corley does add a tiny bit to the legacy.

I do think Floyd's age is going to catch up with him sooner or later. The difference maker will be whether a fighter comes along that is talented and intelligent enough to capitalize. Then Floyd will be beat.

So, say even if he were to fight once in the next 3 calendar years, he'd only ever be in the ring at the age of 38. I confidently believe he will retire undefeated.

to slam Floyd for not making the fight ok but its not like Manny is beating

down the door to get to Floyd. If this fight never happens its a black mark

He's to good i think he will give PAC a right boxing lesson if Pac turns up like he did against Marquez. Mayweather is exceptional fighter and i think going to prison for a couple of weeks will do no harm to his career.
