What would warrant a lifetime ban, in your opinion?

Baseball has an automatic lifetime ban for team betting (I think). What in boxing do you think should earn a lifetime ban? As for me...

Definitive proof of wrap/glove tampering - what happened with Margarito was NOT definitive proof. What happened with Resto and Collins was. Boxing is brutal enough w/o someone ****ing with the gloves or wraps.

Hitting opponent after fight - this obviously doesn't happen often. James Butler is the only case I can recall, but that was some brutal ****, and should have earned Butler a lifetime ban. Like I said, boxing is brutal enough...

Fight fixing - lifetime ban. It can be hard to prove, but with definitive proof - definite lifetime ban.

Some might mention that PEDs should warrant a ban, but I disagree. As long as they are illegal, boxers who abuse them should be dealt with accordingly, but I think that one day, PED will be legal, and it will seem ridiculous in hindsight that they were once illegal - much like booze in the 1920s.

    Thoughts? :think

Let's get real here, a lifetime ban is a lifetime ban. People can kill, **** and steal millions and still not serve life in prison. That's what punishments are for. You pay the price for your actions.

The only thing i can think of that would warrant a lifetime ban is the resto situation, because as you said, that's definition proof and it indirectly led to the death of a fighter.

And also the fighter and/or promoter betting on their own fights.

Those should always serve lifel. While during hard manual labour.

A sportsman banned from life from his sport can always go do something else.

Insanity? Sure, Butler tilted. Disgraceful. But... "an ear for an ear" (actually it wasn't even for an ear!) was some crayyyzy **** by Mike too.

What the ****? I didn't say it was a PED. I'm just saying that now, we look at it's being illegal at one time as ridiculous in hindsight. One day, I think some PEDs will be viewed the same way, but that's decades from now.

Plaster is probably the biggest one, Butler was a psycho and should have been banned longer than what he was.

Head butting repeatedly, and thereby seriously endangering the opponents health.

Not that I am a scientist, but I have a hard time believing that PED's will never have side-effects. And if that is the case, you are practically forcing superior athletes to accept harmful substances into their body just to be on an even-playing field with lesser athletes.
Many people will consider this too high of a price, and will decide not to compete.
