I'll go away and think about the bottom half divisions but sanchez vs lopez is pretty much a lock surely?

I don't think a division as stacked as Featherweight can have a lock.

I think that might be exactly why it is :think

most of the great fights seem to be competitive back and forth wars and this is a fight between two greats were one guy looks invincible almost. It's a tough ask to beat it.

    Agree.

Just thought that Chang's demolition of Zapata in their second fight worth considering.

This is why you're my favorite poster, El B.

It's become taboo and restricted to recognize the beast Tyson was. At this point in time, he's become the complete opposite of what would be considered overrated. Nobody rates him at all. In anything. This of course isn't considering the newbs who know all of 3 fighters and only watch YouTube highlights. It isn't surprising to me however, that when you give him his respect nobody says **** about it.

Hearns/Cuevas was the first fight period that actually came to mind when I looked at the thread title.

:lol:Well thanks, man. I'm flattered. I go by what I see, and what I saw with a prime Tyson is something I've never seen in the Heavyweight division. To be honest, you'd be hard-pressed to find that particular brand of wrecking machine in any division. He was one of a kind, for however short a period.

    Interesting points.

What's more of a talent showcase: tyson's destruction of berbick or ali's perfection against tirrel.

Both probably looked equally as unbeatable to be honest.

Zapata was dreadful in the rematch, he was at his best in the first IMO

Nah man, you seen my pick on the post above. ;)

:lol:I honestly didn't see any posts before mine. Was pretty odd that we both had the exact same choice (we actually had quite a few).

He beat down one of the all time greats with a phenomenal performance in which he showed his full arsenal. I can't think of any higher level performance at the weight.

I thought it was a close fight with a guy who was at his best 2 weight divisions south, dont get me wrong, its a great win and performance. You know how highly I think of Arguello.

But in Cervantes, Benitez beat a better, or more proven LWW, and did so more convincingly IMO, or easily should be the word.

Kameda vs Wongjongkam, you ****ing joking?

Also at Flyweight Canto vs Park I deserves a mention, just awesome

El Bujia, you are insane to omit Sang-Hyun Kim's expert dissection of Saensak Muangsurin as a ten stone candidate.
