That's how I had it. It really baffles me when people score it for leonard, I can't see 8 rounds arguable for him.

    Touche.

That's the reason I picked hearns over cuevas. I think robinson aside, noone would I favour over tommy that night.

Tommy lost The Showdown and never fought at 147 again. He shouldn't be among the top 3-4 welterweights but I have him there anyway. Cuevas was a great win, but all the eggs are put in the H2H basket and I can't bother giving a ****. Tommy wrecks almost all welters for my dollars and cents (sense).

put anyone in a 12 round match against the tommy from the cuevas fight and i'd bew willing to bet on tommy against any other ww in histoyr bar robinson.

that's not saying other welter's couldn't beat him, or wouldn't on their best day.

I'm just saying tommy at his best was ****ing awesome.

Cuevas was totally inept in that fight though, it has to be said.

He actually seemed to be trying to box with Hearns, rather than just do his usual march straight in and throw huge left hooks.HHe looked thoroughly intimidated.

Tommy and Tyson are the only two fighters I place such a value of H2H on as I generally prefer resume. It's hypocritical, but it's difficult to ignore with the type of talent, skills, power and General Threat SHOUTING FRANTICALLY IN YOUR FACE

Thats right forgot about that because Tony looks so much leaner than against Ross, Ambers and Petrolle, plus Chocolate always looked stick thin no matter what.

OK I change my featherweight pick to

    Featherweight

I use a 3 part system were first I consider how long they spent as the best in the world, then I look at resume, then I play out a fantasy round robin tournament between everyone I consider as great within the division history. They're my 3 main criteria plus i'll add bonus marks for intangibles (i.e. Being young and coming back after a prison stint with tyson)

My system aint perfect but it's a good representation of how I view boxing because I can't decide which of the 3 (legacy, h2h and resume) should be given more importance.

Surely H2H in someone's own era; resume is hood enough, especially if you're taking into account the quality/depth of the era the fighter you're rating.

They can belittle, downgrade and put down Calzaghe all they want, but the fact is that many "experts" in the boxing mags and elsewhere were so sure of a Lacy victory. His manner of crushing his opponents, and general muscled up menacing aura were mentioned as were predictions that he would steamroll Calzaghe. Just to mention the masterclass, utterly onesided shellacking he got...all that was lacking was a knockout..is all I need to add....other than to say that JC actually ruined Jeff Lacy as a fighter.

A great performance. Just not as good as shutting out a prime james toney.

Watched Jeff lacys fights leading up to it, he wasn't all that. Pemberton and Reid? Wow.
