Boxers: Roy Jones Jr. - Got caught (HOF) James Toney - Got caught (HOF) Orlando Salido - Got caught Fernando Vargas - Got caught Shane Mosley - Admitted (HOF) Vitali Klitschko - Admitted Mariano Carrera - Got caught Frans Botha - Got caught Cruz Carbajal - Got caught Omar Nino - Got caught I think its unfair when people judge Pac just because he went up 8 weight divisions now that he is on steroids... he was never tested positive but if he did.. will you still consider him in your top 20 ATG?
you forgot evan fields, it does matter when imo. Imagine if marquez was caught roiding for the pac fight, he obviously looked huge but didnt before so lets say he only did it then. would it hurm his total legacy? Vitali tested positive for something as an amatuer he didnt get caught as a pro should he never enter the hof because of it?
Gayweather- Xylocaine His KO percentage dropped considerably when he was off that stuuf. How many fights in the lower weights did he used that stuff?
How can Xylocaine help someone win a fight isn't that like something like a cortizone pain killer that he uses for his hand pain I could of swore I heard George Foreman say that he needs to take his shot and drive on Ijust don't see how how that makes him any faster or stronger.
It's true that Pac was never caught using PED's. The accusation that he was using was started by Floyd Sr. because Manny walked through his boy, Ricky Hatton. In Floyd Seniors drug addled, ego driven mind, no one could destroy anyone HE trains unless they're cheating. And of course , the rumor of drug use also serves Floyd Jr. sympathizers who don't want to believe that their woman beating hero is shamelessly avoiding fighting Manny at all costs. To be fair, the xylocaine issue is not an issue at all. Floyd's has chronic hand pain. Even Ali use to get his hands numbed before fights.
It allows Mayweather to punch harder because he does not feel pain in his hands. If he fought clean he would be in pain and be more cautious or at least the pain would be somewhat distracting. Its the main reason why he only fights in Vegas now, its 1 of the few places they allow Xylocaine.
Oh and also since Mayweather started using Xylocaine he stopped using those "Winning" pillow gloves, and was able to use more puncher orientated gloves like Grant and Reyes.
this, also Old trainers you meet around the gym tell fighters (punchers) to ice up there hands before they wrap them, this they say gives the ability to punch harder and blow out the opponent - don't know if this is true.
The ones that were caught or admitted cheating should be banned from ever being inducted into the HOF. No exceptions or extenuating circumstances allowed, if you cheat once, you're forever a cheat. All those guys on the list should be made examples of. That would present the best deterrent for prospective cheats in this era where drugs in sport are prevalent. Fines and short suspensions do nothing. Knowing it would impact their lasting legacy if they get caught, would atleast give fighters something to think about if they're contemplating cheating.
Never heard of this, i could understand it would work for a little bit but before they actually get in the ring let alone fight for 45 or so minutes you would think it wears off. Obviously it would not be because of the cold in the long run but some other effect i do not understand.... Do you know of any articles that might explain why this could work?
