if castillo was shot what about tom johnson.

he went and lost to charles shepherd. :patsch

hatton won a title in 2 weights.

unlike naz who sat in his comfort zone at featherweight.

and won his step up fight.

    tszyu.

    naz got owned. :!:

and hatton went on and fought floyd and pac.

the equivalent of naz coming back and fighting morales and floyd.

Its Hard to seperate them on this matter. All there wins were against fighters slightly or well past there best and when they stepped up to greatness they failed (for different reasons)

The Hatton win over Tszyu is the most impressive of all the wins they had. Tszyu still looked an excellent fighter going into that fight. Ricky was a massive under dog going in. You can seriously question whether Ricky would of won the fight if it werent for other factors that have been argued about Agaain and Again

Naz never went into a fight were it was 50-50 or he was an underdog to win. even against MAB people were saying that he had a weight advantage and heavily favouring him

The tszyu fight aside theres not much seperating them though I would say Naz has more impressive wins

I think most will agree that Naz had more ability and was the bigger under acheiver were as Hatton is perceived as an OVer achiever. I personally think both under achieved and could of been better than they were

Comfort zone? Naz claimed a top ten scalp at Bantam, and started as a Fly. Hatton's title at Welter meant absolutely zilch.

Hatton had the best single win in KT but Naz had the greater record in depth by some distance.

I go with Naz,he fought at a slightly higher level(Kostya Tyzu aside)and won his fights in a more dominant manner.

Neither was Kevin Kelly TBH and he's been bigged up in this thread. Guess it just depends which side you are on as to which opponents you need to drag down/ big up?

I agree. But Ricky is often given the 'he beat Tszyu' as if it elevates him above many based on one phenomenal win. Tszyu was past his best and not all that in his prime.

Its Hattons best win, decent enough but not enough to put him over Naz.

That said, when Kelley and the shell of Tom Johnson are getting used as headliners for Nazs case then maybe its closer than I thought...;-)

He was very good at his best and could bang a bit.He was by far and away the best Hatton fought and was the best in the division at the time.
