Don't know as much about Taylor and Alexander as I do this about Lacy...Calzaghe just ruined him, that's all. Call 'em slaps or what have you, Calzaghe laid it on him more...nonstop and constant...like Lacy's head was a speed bag or something. And remember, all the "experts" at the time, or at least most of them anyway, were predicting that Mr. Muscles would just steamroll JC, like he was doing to all those hapless pre JC opponents of his, like Scott Pemberton. Maybe lacy turned out to be a bust, but it was because he just got ruined in one fight. it would have been better for Lacy, at least more merciful, if Calzaghe did have more of a punch, all the better to have averted that dreadful beating he got.

Andre Dirrell is the most disappointing. He has the most potential but still aint won a title.

Alexander, Taylor and Lacy at least picked up a strap, Dirrell needs to step it up and show more heart.

When you not are in trollmode your analyzes can be worthwhile reading, but the holes in Dirrells game seems very obvious. He fell apart mentally in his two biggest fights, in the later case he forgot he basic principle "protect yourself at all times", thus a glorious schooling ended in an ugly DQ win with Dirrell lying unconscious on the canvas.

Dirrells understanding for the sweet science seems limited. Even Froch was able to catch him, albeit with very sloppy shots while Dirrell was moving. Imagine what a faster and more accurate fighter would have been able to do. I dont think Dirrell compare with really well schooled boxers like Ward.

He fell apart mentally in the Froch fight for around 2-3 rounds, in a fight that had it been in neutral territory would Froch would have been disqualified for hip throwing Dirrell across the ring, and repeated rabbit punching. I will say Ward is mentally tougher then Dirrell because Froch tried the same dirty tactics when he was losing to Ward, rabbit punching, hitting after the bell ect, yet Ward didnt let him off the hook. Dirrell however finished that fight strong and clearly established himself as the superior fighter.

Against Abraham there was no mental collapse. He was the victim of a disgraceful unwarranted cheap shot. And there is nothing Dirrell could have done to protect himself at that time. The ref clearly told Abraham to stop, and Abraham took a big wind up, clearly premeditated.
How many punches did Froch hit Dirrell with cleanly? 3-4 at best? I agree that he isnt as good as Ward, but he can quite comfortably handle the rest of the division just on talent alone.

Dirrell's potential was only seen before Super Six, by myself and a few others. There was no massive hype behind Dirrell. Most thought Froch would KO him easy.

Its easy to say after the fact. Dirrell wasnt even the favorite when he fought Abraham. :rofl

Alexander. Everyone was so high on him after the Urango KO (lol). Fat Dan was his biggest nuthugger. It was funny when everyone finally saw that he was just a big baby who screams when he jabs, misses about 80% of what he throws, and that he is a quitter.

I wouldnt put Jermain Taylor in the same group with Lacy and Alexander.

Taylor has some great accomplishments unlike the other 2.

Beat Hopkins twice, beat Wright(imo), beat Pavlik in the rematch(imo) and had Froch on the brink of defeat.

Taylor's problem was that he never really respected the sport and was only in it for the money.

 Fat Dan's still on the bandwagon. He had Alexander clearly beating Kotelnik and Matthysse.

Is that Bojado in your avy?

Now that is a fighter that was a huge disappointment. What pisses me off about his career the most is his current mentality believing his professional career was a success.
