thoughts? did anything change after watching less than 6 minutes of that first fight or is bernard still the favorite?
Dawson was the slight favourite in the first fight. I'd imagine the odds will be wider in his favour if they fight again next.
This time the fight would be even more boring than previous was supposed to be. Dawson can't anymore shoot for takedowns so he jabs, runs, clinches. Hopkins sticks to his casual dirty tricks and clinching. After 12 rounds of...just after 12 round, audience gives big "Yawn!" of approval and Hopkins's arm is raised...SD Some would say it was controversial, some wouldn't. Truth would be that the fight was so uninteresting, yet (in it's own way) competitive, that it could have gone either way.
Nobody knows what he was about to do and neither what was Bernard expecting to do to him. I do recognize that Dawson was not intimidated mentally and he came out to fight. This BS of finding a way out will simply evaporate as Hopkins shows Dawson that he is one of the most skillful, cagey, smartest and trickiest boxers to have ever stepped on a boxing ring in the rematch most are expecting B'Nard to skip, run away or avoid...
I'll stick to my original prediction of a Hopkins UD but im not as confident as before, a couple months off and an injury has to take an affect on a 46 year old
Hopkins is going to grind him down and make him pay. Unless the old man loses his touch, he'll find a way to work Dawson over. The second half of the fight is going to look like the Tarver fight, which is what I thought would happen the first time around.
