Is Lennox Lewis' legacy overrated?

First of all, Im not a Klitschko fan nor a Klitschko hater.
Im also not a Lennox Lewis hater.

I mean, lets be honest. Lewis was a great fighter and defently the best between 1998-2003.

But his wins arent that great.

Razor Ruddock: Tyson had already beaten him twice and ruinned him as a fighter. He never became the same.

Tony Tucker: 35 years old and pretty much done. Put an ok win. Not the same tucker as in the 80's.

Frank Bruno: Tyson already KOed him and Tim Witherspoon also beat him. Way past his prime.

Phil Jackson, Tommy Morrison, David Tua, Zeljko Mavrovic, Andrew Golota, Francios Botha and Michael Grant: Come on, really? The Klitschko has fought just as bad/god as these opponent.

And of course hea had his two losses against Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman.

And like Lewis always kept to say was, that he neded Tyson to fulfill his legacy. I mean let us be real.

Tyson? He needed to beat a guy who did'nt really care to win the fight or the title. He did'nt even wanted the fight, he just wanted his pay-day, because he was broke.

Why do people say that HW boxing died when Lewis retired?

The Klitschko have fought almost the same caliber of opponent as Lewis has, bu they arent getting the credit they deserve.

And ofcourse there was Lewis TKO win over Vitali, but this is not what the thread is about and we have already had plenty of those discussions.

 

Maybe, HBO keps saying that his win over Vitali looks better every day, because Vitali is just getting better and better or?.

Ray Mercer was a good win to. Even though it was very close.

But well. He was pretty old and done to. 35-36 years old. Not the youngest anymore.

Yeah he beat Tyson, but those heat-buts wasnt just a pillow to the head and Tyson after prison/Rivens/Rooney really was stabile mentally.
