If I was managing Floyd, and looking for maximum return with minimum risk, it would have to be Chavez Jr. It would be a blockbuster event since: Chavez Jr is Mexican. Floyd would be going for the 160lb title, his 6th weight class title. Two historic boxing families. Mayweather Sr(even though he won't be training Floyd) vs Roach. I can see this being another 1-1.5 milliion PPV event.
I would not order this PPV. I can't stand either guy and wouldn't want to fatten their pockets. I would wait for the HBO replay the following week if I heard the fight was exciting.
Absolutely. Replay their fight all through the hype, Unca Roga and Chavez Sr talking massive ****, this would be a blockbuster!
Why isnt this fight oki with you guys? wouldnt you want to see floyd achieve success? if he wins a paperbelt at 160 its still a very impressive accomplishment for a former superfeatherweight, if he would do well there and dominate chavez then yes fights ergio next, but to seek out if he is capable I have no problem with it at all. It would be a brave move to test his limits, which is why I cant ever see him do it. I would root for him as well, I thought people were harsh on chavez but he is willingly benefiting from the wbc cherrypicking protective stuff so I dont have sympathy for him then.
i would actually be interested in this fight. didnt chavez jr weigh like 180 in the ring last fight? would be interesting to see how floyd manages such a huge size difference especially now he's fighting more stationary. although jr hasn't earned the money and there are far more important fights for floyd. also chavez jr is at top rank so doubt this would happen
That would actually hurt his legacy. Fighting Chavez, maybe the least deserving champ in all of boxing, maybe in history, and avoiding Martinez who's been calling him out and is a P4P top 5 would be an embarrassment.
