How Come Calzaghe Never fought Pavlik? Who Would Win If They Fought?

Calzaghe had 2 fights left, he went after the two biggest names of his era.

Hopkins was in the P4P top 5, and the fight was worth much more money. Calzaghe also went up in weight.

Pavlik was 1 weight class smaller than Joe C, if he'd fought Pavlik and won (seems a foregone conclusion to me) then he'd of been accused of picking on someone smaller and avoiding Bernard. Joe also had a hard time making 168 in the end, so moving to 175 was smart.

 

Because somebody up there cares about Kelly Pavlik. :deal

 

Calzaghe would have embarrassed Pavlik! Pavlik would have gotten slapped up like he snatched a purse from Ann Wolfe. Wait, why would Ann Wolfe have a purse? atsch Silly me.

 

Calzaghe sucks, but he would've knocked out that drunk Pavlik.

 

Calzaghe in a clinic the fight gets stopped on cuts as Pavlik would have been buted up worse than Lacy ..

What makes you think Pavlik could win?

Kessler is a better, bigger, more complete version of Pavlik, he'd stop KP.

 

Calzaghe started to struggle to make 168 and was ready to move onward to 175 to fight B-Hop after Kessler, while Pavlik would fight Taylor again and defend his 160 belt again before moving onward.

The times just didn't quite match. Maybe he could have tried to arrange something after Hopkins or Jones but there where also calls for him to fight Dawson who was probably more deserving than Pavlik for the Calzaghe fight had Joe decided to stick around but he decided to call it a day.

 

Calzaghe would have made Pavlik look like an old woman! Calzaghe by UD or TKO!!!
