Was Oscar's win over Vargas one of the best in the last decade?

Now regular Vargas gave hell to Tito before eventually succumbing to the low blows but the version that faced DLH was the most focused Vargas had ever been since it was personal and to top it off he was juiced to his eyeballs making him into a mini virtual Hulk yet DLH managed to survive the early roid enduced attacks and fight his way back to get the TKO so should this win be looked at as one of the best in the last decade? it's definitely Oscar's best win considering the circumstances.

I guess it deserves an honourable mention as a very good win. Oscar had to adapt his style throughout the fight to deal with the bigger man who still possessed some of the best offensive tricks in the game. It was close for about 6 rounds but after Oscar adjusted and started to work behind some lovely jab + right hands and body shots, and started to circle a bit more then he tempered Vargas and wore him down.

Yeah, it was a pretty good win and probably one of the more memorable ones but I doubt it was the one of the absolute best (say Mosley beating a prime Oscar off the back of what should have been one of the more impressive 147 runs in recent years). An A++ guy at his weight ceiling against an A guy.

Good win for DLH but in my opinion his comeback against Ike was more impressive. Vargas did give Tito hell but I don't recall the low blows being the reason he was TKO'd I seem to remember a left hook and right hand doing the damage....that's just my observation. Roided up Vargas was about half as fluid with his boxing ability and it probably did more damage to his performance. He looked stiff, rigid and gassed.....the Vargas that faced Tito would have lasted the entire fight.

I think so. This is one of my favorite matches to watch and rewatch. They start off exchanging momentum, but Oscar adjusts brilliantly and ends up dominating in the end. Highly entertaining and add in the context around the fight (the personal feud, Vargas' focus) and you've got something awesome.

It definitely was one of the sweetest, especially for Oscar.
But his best victory was tito in 99.
People will act like vargas was shot but he was still very good and most importantly roided up like hel, he looked like huge.
Oscar showed boxing skills wins it over strength and hatred.
This fight along with tyson vs lewis got me into boxing.

I wouldnt call it the best win of the decade but its a damn good win IMO. Even the roids couldnt help Vargas!

One of the best, and i'm sure if the bookmakers knew Vargas was actually Bruce Banner they wouldn't have made Oscar a favourite.

I think it's one of the better wins. It's probably within Oscar's top 3 wins of his career.

Obviously the additions of roids to Vargas had no positive effect on him (aside from a chiseled look and back hair), and doubtful on the odds. :D

Still a very good win none the less.

I'd say Shane Mosley's win over Oscar was about as good as they get.
