edit : that was my post in 2011 , Walker Smith Jr. during his prime certainly does not deserve a mention .
    Who were they ?
I think that Salvador Sanchez was 1 , Walker Smith Jr. has a case 2 , James Toney was another , despite being extremely drained @ his 160 lbs reign .
Hard 2 blame Tyson @ ducking any1 @ his 1st reign , and his opposition was better than every other seriously reigning HW champion I can think of , sadly .

What is it about those trinkets ? Tarver & Johnson surely knew d answer 2 it .
Sometimes fighter who usually fight d hardest 2 beat opponents take d easy way when they have a trinket ? but if overall they had a harder 2 beat resume , does it reduce from their greatness ? if so , how much ?

Clarification of the criteria would be helpful.

Do we only consider title defences?

If so, do we exclude fights where there was no choice e.g the fight where the title was won, mandatories etc?

What are we trying to work out?

Gotta clear things up. If we're including the murderers row guys then it's a wrap.

Sugar Ray Leonard from 1979-1981.. Incredible. The only guy he didn't fight is Aaron Pryor.

Marvin Johnson. A lot of new champions make their 1st defenses against winnable opponents but Marvin took the opposite route.

The guy probably had more guts than brains. After winning the title against Mate Parlov, he made his 1st defense against the guy who had KO'd him previously, Matt Franklin. Franklin proceeded to KO him again.

After beating Galindez to regain a portion of the LT. Hvy crown again, he made his 1st defense against the very talented, very dangerous Eddie Gregory. He didn't have a chance and got himself KO'd again.

 Yeah, it's almost as if Pryor wasn't campaigning in the same weight class or something. You might as well replace Pryor's name with Cuevas.

People admire guys like Whitaker and Holyfield because they ducked no one.

    Yeah, get with the program.

Personally, I admire Evander for his steadfast support of Burger King and their Breakfast Buddy sandwich. Would you pop a buddy in the mouth? I know I would. Holy should've popped more of his female buddies in the mouth, if you catch my drift. Hint: it's sexual.
