    Europeans have no skills. None.

Pirog is rated for beating Daniel Jacobs. That is equally disturbing though. Yeah, Pirog is good, but take it a bit easy.

Yes, but Balay has a point here.

The Ring can, but ONLY makes than choice if an American is expected to win the fight.

If for example two europeans are 1 and 3, and an American 3rd. The fight between 1 and 3 would NEVER be for the Ring belt. They would want them to fight the American no. 2 for it to be for he Ring belt. So it is hugely biased.

Generalizing based on race. What is the word for that?

    Oh, yeah...

    Racism.

You completely bungled your numbers here, and are just asserting things with no evidence whatsoever. Given the biased nationalism at the heart of The Ring, why pray tell didn't they make Bradley-Alexander for the light welterweight belt?

Come on, mate. There are many similarities and Ward will not (and should not) get that much credit until he has at least had a couple of risky fights abroad like the other top fighters in the division.

But he is a level above Ottke (and so is Kessler, and probably Froch and Bute too).

Because nationalism is not the only criteria. There is lot of politics in it as well. Didn't De la Hoya buy the Ring Magazine by the way?

You forgot to add that they're both duller than watching paint dry.

The only reason why you are making comparisons that are ridiculous to make, is because he is a "threat" to your boyish fanism for Calzaghe... he beat the opponent that meant, almost the most to Calzaghe's resume much better.

You guys are not boxing fans, just fighter fans.. nothing more and nothing less. As such your post have very little objectivity and are often always bias... like how you give points for Calzaghe's no names on his resume, but will ridicule a fighter who has ATG's and real champions on their that has stood to the test of time.

You didn't however make any exceptions for politics or qualify at all what The Ring's imaginary actions would be in your completely imaginary situation which you used to boldly conclude that "it is hugely biased." Perhaps if you could point to a single concrete example where such logic actually was used, I might be more inclined to accept your heretofore unsupported allegation.

Smaller weight divisions I agree, but MW and up Europeans are dominating.

    Some actual examples might help.

I fail to see how fighting abroad relates in this situation. A US fighter can fight his entire career in the US and it would not necessarily affect his worlwide standing. The same cannot be said for fighters from just about any other countries. It is a double standard, no doubt, but not without cause.

is dominating too strong a word?

    MW: Europeans are indeed dominating
    Top guy SMW: Andre Ward
    Top guy Light Heavy: Hopkins
Top guy cruiser: arguably, Steve Cunningham.
    HW: Europeans dominating
