Considering he wasn't in the UFC who exactly was he going to fight? Cain JDS Brock Overeem ALL were nobodys at the start of 2006 most of whom had only just begun their careers. The only fight that mattered was Barnett and that got nixed because Barnett failed a drug test and Affliction folded. Likewise Dana nixed Couture Fedor. Everyone else who mattered he fought. Face it you don't even have a point. You berate everyone else who doesn't tow your UFC line but your quick to highlight Fedor's failings when your argument is riddled with holes.

You're behaving as if Travis Lutter is not the Michael Jordan of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Smarten up. :-(

Blame Joe Rogan and Goldy for that bull****. Rogan still couldnt get off Brocks jock last night with his sly digs at Overeem. If Brock hadnt taken a **** in the Octagon bet your life Rogan would have been there guffawing over it and telling everyone what a great Viking **** it was. The UFC is almost like ECW with tweedle dee and tweedle dum at the helm.

People that are hating on guys like Fedor, and Overeem don't even give reasons why in this thread... If I were to guess 99% of them thought Lesnar was literally the baddest man on the planet, and Cain was straight unstoppable.
Now all you got is Dos Santos and Overeem will probably stretch him out soon enough.

To be fair to JDS, he wasn't massively hyped by The UFC and built up a solid record by beating the best guys in the division. Even since the Cain fight he's not be talked up that much. In fact, since Overeem is the more marketable guy, I can see Dana hyping him up much more in the run up to their fight. The hype Brock (and by default Cain since he dethroned him) got was shocking though. Brock built up a decent run of wins despite what his haters say, but the 'baddest man on the planet' stuff was clearly bull****.
