    Disagree with middleweight. I'd pick Martinez and Quillin over anyone in the division right now. Hell even a healthy Jermaine Taylor with all his flaws might be up in there aswell/

    its one of these "prove me that im wrong though you'll never convince my already made-up mind" threads....

    Its a lousy attempt to undermine Ward's achievements, who has just recently won the Super6 Classic tournament & Ring Magazine title & rated #5 p4p. Of the six fighters, this event included FOUR undefeated fighters, TWO current champions.

    Hidden agenda = prevent Ward from over-shadowing Slappy Joe's grave by somehow convincing others... unfortunately, NO ONE from ESB buys your desperate logic...

    You forget though, that they moved Froch above Kessler for beating Abraham coming off a loss, when in Frochs fight previous he had lost to Kessler. So The Ring made a point of putting Froch above Kessler who had beaten him in their previous fight

    Lets not forget how the vast majority picked Lacy to win. I bet you did also. Lacy didnt have floors that people noticed until Calzaghe beat him, then all these after event experts claim to have seen something. You are one of those.

    Good post and correct. Ward can get to that level, but people have this fake belief he has reached it already.

    Exactly. Mitchell who Ottke beat has a better resume than Froch. Woods couldnt compete at SMW and was beaten by Starie and Jirov, Who did he beat :lol:

    Calzaghe has no threats or rivals. Look at how all of Wards big wins have come back to Calzaghe when you date back the losses of who beat who.
    If Ward beats Bute then he will have closed the gap a bit, but unless Bute does something amazing he wont have been a better win than undefeated Kessler and not better than Eubank. Even then all the other big names like Woodhall, Reid, Lacy and Mitchell would take alot of topping, but nuthuggers seem terrified of debating the subject and looking at resumes and who did what. The S6 has fooled alot of people
    Thankyou Timeout. Good point, Ottke did show a good beard. I will have to make a thread about the things that are different between Ottke and Ward ie Ottke good chin, better resume etc

    It is without cause. Being able to travel is another side of the game. Look at how well American SMWs have performed in world title fights when having to travel. They have All lost, yet performed at home. Examples - Brewer, Mitchell, Sheika, Manfredo, Lacy, Andrade (based in America) all top 10 SMWs at the time. I could name many others J Taylor (not a world title fight), G Johnson (not top 10), McClellan, Holmes etc. There are plenty more examples

    Ottke quit while undefeated and still young, knowing the homecooking couldn't last forever and that Calslappy and BHOP were on thier way to getting in with him.
    While he loses respect for those ducks, he loses more respect overall because of the robberies he received vs guys like Glen Johnson and Robin Reid.

    As for Ward.....there really hasn't been any robberies I can think of...he's thoroughly won his fights, but not in manner as dominant as Bute, and while Ward is a highly respectable fighter inside the ring, it's his following in PHONY's footsteps that irks me......already learning the art of duckery.....and from such a master.

    Until Ward fights and beats Bute......he'll always be #2 of his generation to MOST fans.:deal

    Sames goes for PHONY vs Pac.
