I feel Ortiz will win the Berto rematch. Then he also fits the Mayweather leftover criteria that filipino manny pacquiao has a taste for. The fight would be expected to be exciting to the casuals for how ever long it lasts. Being mexcian doesn't hurt either.

Doubt Pacquiao would go that low. Ortiz is not in his league whether he beats Berto 20 times or not. Pacquiao has Marquez or Mayweather(when he's out of prison).

The "leftovers" criteria shouldn't be so focused on in boxing. God forbid top contenders of a division fight common opponents. Don't get me wrong, I don't really want to see Pacquiao-Ortiz, but it's just more of the same polarizing mentality.

I agree. Especially when you're talking about Pacquiao fighting Mayweather's ex-opponents, specifically. I mean, Mayweather, as great as he is, isn't exactly a wreckin' machine. Of course, he can do accumulated damage, but he won't damage a fighter to the point that they're a lesser fighter afterwards. The main example used as 'Floyd's leftovers' is usually Hatton, who did look worse after the Mayweather fight. However I feel Hatton did as much damage to himself by not living right as Mayweather did in that fight. It shouldn't be used as a means to discredit Pacquiao's wins, but unfortunately it generally is.

Ortiz would have to leave Golden Boy for Top Rank for this fight to happen.
