    We all know GBP got an agenda for mexican fighters, especially Canelo. everyone knows James Kirkland was supposed to be mandatory after whoopin on Angulo. you can tell tell by the look on Oscars face after the fight Kirkland was not supposed to win. for one, the fight was in mexico and all the judges were mexican with ridiculously close scorecards before the TKO.

    De La Hoya was in the crowd and only cheering when Angulo landed a punch and looked all disapointed after the fight. now that Kirkland pulled off the upset he realizes hes a threat to the the red headed superstar. so what does he do? he sets up match for Kirkland against ANOTHER good mexican fighter with a winstreak Carlos Molina.

    I bet GBP is praying Kirkland doesnt walk thru Molina like he did to Angulo. I wonder if Kirkland wins what GBP would do next to stop "Mandingo" from gettin his shot? :think

    It's not just delahoya. Mexican pride has diminished as of late, as top mexican fighters are more protected than Ward and Berto, which just 5 years ago would have sounded as a bad joke.

    Yea, both Canelo and Chavez Jr. would do well to face some top competition and possibly lose. This keeping your O is getting to the point were it's killing boxing. I think GBP is losing site of what makes Mexican fighters special, and it's NEVER been their undefeated records.

    ward is nothing close to being protected but anyways nowadays in america they just promote gimmicks to fullest and dont care about regular americans or mexicans. they promote canelo because he looks different with red hair and freckles. they promote Chavez Jr. cuz of his legendary father. they promote Khan cuz hes pakastani and pac cuz hes filipino. when they should be promoting guys like marquez and ward like that. its all about gimmicks in america not skills.

    He had to, as part of the S6, but he was the only fighter that didn't have to leave his backyard. That is a huge advantage.
    Plus his fight with Direll never materialized (though no fault of his own but still), and I believe Direll was the only guy in that tournament that could have beat him.
