Super Feather has to be the bad boy from Dadiangas Vs Boza for me. Unbelievable stuff.

It wasnt even at all IMO.

Maybe its juts me, but I dont think Toney is all that against Barkley, and Barkley was very very poor it would be like saying Toney on the heavybag was his best performance.

But going back to your Lacy vs Calzaghe thing, if you look at Boza's dfence and suscepitibility to a left hand, you would have to favour Navarrette IMO. Still a great performance

Without having witnessed and followed a particular era as it happened, it's really the only viable starting point. Others did, and they took note for future generations to reference. Hell, without the Ring Ratings you could take any sap with an undefeated record and not a whole lot of film and conclude he was a top contender when in reality, he's nowhere close. How the hell would we know any different? No ratings, scarce film. A paper record. There's a reason fighters earned their way into Top 10, and while the Ring had their little mishaps along the way, they were and still are the best thing out there. Without it, you don't even know what you're looking for or how to assess the value of wins. I've honestly never heard anybody reference a rated fighter by anything but that source from the 1920s onward, and I sure as hell haven't heard anybody give the WBC or WBA ratings the time of day, at any point.

It's a damn good reference for a snapshot of divisions throughout history. It's better to go a little further, though.

It was the right hook that did Boza in, greg.

That's how I see it also.

I'd never say fighter a is greater because he beat 12 ring opponents as opposed to 9. But i'd list those particular opponents and then compare them from a contextual viewpoint.

Thats right, I knew it was a southpaw shot that did him in, time and time again. Just been a while since I seen it.

Well Navarette was throwing the classic right hook-left cross (looping shot for the Filipino though) but I was more astounded that he blasted Boza out. Navarette could hit, but so could Limon, Chacon and Arguello and none of them blitzed Boza like that, he was completely outgunned here against the most vulnerable of the top guys of that era.

    Incredible.

That sure was a golden age for the division, probably the best in it's history.

Although the pac, mab, morales, jmm 4some was pretty damn special if not removed from prime form.
