If Frank Mir breaks someone's arm for the 3rd time, should he be sanctioned?

Once it happens, well, things happen in a fight.

Twice it happens, that's a bit suspicious.

Three times it happens, this guy gets excited by snapping people's arms.

And that sort of **** is NOT good for a new sport that is in the early stages of establishing itself in the mainstream. Especially when it involves a top-level heavyweight on major cards.

So should Dana have spoken to Frank Mir informally after he broke Big Nog's arm?

And if Mir does it again, should he be punished?

Or will that only encourage fighters not to tap, and unfairly force the fighter to choose between snapping the limb, or risking letting his opponent right back into the fight?

How should the sport deal with the nasty-looking limb breaks? It's an uncomfortable issue for the sport, and Frank Mir is the guy at the centre of it.

    It's entirely based on context.

Sanction Frank Mir for his BJJ use during MMA competition? No.

    Sanction Rousimar Palhares? Abso-****ing-lutely.

If a guy chooses not to tap for whatever reason (stupidity most likely), that's their fault. They're professionals and should know better. This is the sport we have. BJJ is an integral part of it. Don't like it? There's always other sports. I hear darts is exciting.

If I thought Mir breaking limbs was accidental, I'd say no. But no matter what anyone says, I believe he wanted to and tried to break Nog's arm.

It doesn't really matter now anyhow, the UFC is now on Fox, and is trying to get licensed in New York, etc, so if Mir does it again he'll be treated like an outcast by White, Silva and the Fertittas, and sent to fight on UFC Fight Night cards in Shittown USA. They're not going to let the UFC be refused acceptance by mainstream sports and media because of one man's quest to gain notoriety for breaking bones.

If a fighter doesn't know when to tap that's his decision. I can't go around judging intentions unless the fighter opens their mouth and says that's what they were trying to do.

If he does it again he should be given a ****in award and ESPN should devote an entire channel to just showing that clip over and over again!
    People want violence
    Except apparently some MMA fans
Never understood how a sport based on extreme violence can have such crybaby ass fans

If you want to play tough guy, you should pay the price. There shouldn't be any shame in tapping when you know that you're done.

People should tap. Bottom line. If Nog had tapped he wouldn't have had a broken arm and he could have tapped.

You have NO proof of this, punishing a guy for doing something legal is bull****.

Also if you have ever been Kimura'd you would know it attacks the shoulder joint more than the humerus and is vastly more likely to dislocate the shoulder than fracture the arm.

It has NEVER been a secret that if Frank locks on a sub he will yank with 100% effort and not stop until the ref steps in!

And there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

If people don't like it then don't watch the sport.

The last thing we want is the sport watered down even more.

If it's too much for them then the new Fox viewers can switch off and **** off.

Popkins and Haggis are talking complete and utter bollocks! :nut

It´s part of the game, it isn´t Mirs fault if his oponnents don´t tap

That's the way it has to be done otherwise the other fighter can slip out. Fighters need to tap when they see it coming.

    **** the mainstream! :smoke

It will be a tragedy if MMA has to be watered down to appeal to these sissy's.

Who cares about the sport getting bigger and getting more fans if they can't handle the sport the way it is now?
