You rarely see a dominant 20 yr old HW world champion who KO's opponents like Popeye on spinach. Self destructive celebrity downfalls are a dime a dozen.
I doubt people can give you three fighters he beat I'm sure people know he bit some dude's ear off and went to jail

definately his rise. in the eighties he was huge. the eighties was the decade of the three mikes. micheal jordan, michael jackson, and mike tyson. he was every bit as big as the mjs.
His rise was events each and every time he fought. Fall was tabloid frenzy. When he bit Hoyfield, then it was just a matter of when he would melt down instead of waiting for him to KO someone.
people tend to remember him for his fall now, along with all the hate he has had with people getting pissed off that he got overrated by others saying he would ko everyone on the planet in 1, now he seems to get underated if anything cos i guess if you think highly of him your a "fanboy" but he should be remembered for what he was in the 80s and what he did for boxing, hes still such a name he could still sell out a stadium and get real good numbers on box office now if he were to come back!
What surprises me is that some people think his fall was more popular. What world are they living in? If it wasn't for his meteoric rise and us WAITING for him to regain prominence- even to his after-jail stint- we would not be talking about him today. Also, Tyson is still a topic of discussion, even when retired and relatively quiet- quiet in criminal offenses terms.
