i'm always reading negative things about dana, seems like no one thinks he is doing ok. i think he's great, hasn't done anything that really pisses me off. maybe there are things i'm not aware of? i'm unsure as to what a president does? however i do not see anything majorly wrong with the ufc. for one thing we are spoilt with the number of fights each year, with good fighters too. he seems pretty accessable and friendly, and is a good face for the ufc imo.
No. He's not. He was a complete failure as a boxing promoter. If it wasn't for the Fertitta's Dana would still be small hall fringe boxing promoter. The Ferttitas are what made the UFC. Not Dana.
He's done a good job for the UFC. No doubt about that. But he is BAD for the sport because he's not in it for the sport. He only cares about his promotion and not the long term health of the sport of which he now represents.
love the bloke. i might not always agree with him but hes probably got one of the most high pressure jobs in sport and for the most part he seems a pretty fair guy.
There are some times where I don't like him but generally he is probably the best promoter in the history of combat sports. No one in boxing has ever developed the sport in such a way and every one in MMA either get bought out or fall to pieces.
Pretty fair in what sense? 2 fighter make **** jokes, one in a press conference the other on twitter. One gets fired the other doesn't. There is no ranking system so fighters who don't fight the way the UFC want are left without title shots which are instead given to hype jobs.
Sometimes he seems affable, but he's usually a total **** who tells silly lies and acts like tough guy. Doesn't really matter to me though. I'm a fan of Zuffa's product not the promoters' personalities.
Have you noticed over the years how swollen Dana has got? That dude used to be a string bean. Both he and Lorenzo look like they've been juicing for years.
What about Don King? As hated as he is he brought the world Tyson Spinks and Ali Foreman. Doesn't get any bigger than that.
