Roy Jones is a career light heavy for the most part.

But he fought at 168 for a time

Calzaghe was 168 most part but fought light heavy for a time.

Where is Joe ranked at 175 all time?

Where is Jones ranked 168 all time ?

Jones has the best win in history at 168 and looked the best of all time at the weight but you're right wasn't there long. Calzaghe has a very very controversial win over a 43yo champ and another win over a shot 39yo

JC fought at 168 for 2 fights, one meaningfull fight one money fight, Lineal champ and clearly won 8 rounds to 4/115-112 - H2H one of the Best but not Resume wise, depends how you rank a fighter.

Jones H2H was the Best at 168 but he used it as a stop to 175, only one competetive in a fight with RJJ at 168 is JC.

I think Jones showed improvement at 175 but at 168 he is close to unbeatable.
PowerPuncher said it perfectly. Calzaghe has a controversial win against a 43 year old Hopkins and a 39 year old Jones.

Jones was the ultimate fighting machine at 168lbs and I would have picked him to win BIG against any version of Calzaghe.

Regardless of duration at the weight, I make Jones number one at super middle because I can't think of one 168lber who would have beaten him at his best.

Calzaghe at 175lbs? Two fights against guys on or around their forties and knocked down by both of them? Gives you an idea of how these fights might have gone had they occurred six or seven years earlier.

The Hopkins fight was awful and Jones was a shell. Difficult to gauge how good Calzaghe really was at 175 - I'm just being honest. He is a top five super middleweight and, for some, the best.

I'm a huge fan of Jones but his win over Toney in 1994 is tarnished. Lights Out was in horrible fighting shape and should have been at 175, or even 190, by that point.

Calzaghe's win over Kessler and Ward clearing out the super six with ease were more impressive IMO.

Well i dont think Joe ranks that highly at 175lbs due to only having 2 fights up at that weight, 1 of which was the shell of the shell of Roy Jones jr and the other one a verr impressive victory over Bhop. The same applies to Roy Jones Jr at 168lbs who i think from memory only had 6 / 7 fights at the weight and again he has one fight that sticks out which is the beating of Toney. I think its safe to assume that Joe ranks higher at 168lbs and Jones ranks higher at 175lbs. At the moment i still rate Joe as the best Super middle ever but i do realise that his days of being recognised as the best at that weight is numbered since the emergence of a lot of top level talent like Ward and Bute.

    LOL:lol:

    Jones number 1 at 168

Calzaghe somewhere between 10-20 at 175 but I can't be arsed working it out.

    Better luck elsewhere.

168 truly is an empty division historywise just like cruiser, of course thats because its relatively new but still.
True greatness is with very deep divisions like lightweight welter middle etc.

Yeah he would have been but Jones was from another planet and at his best beats Calzaghe at his best.

Hopkins, in his early forties, exposed Calzaghe although he lost the fight. What could Ex have done nearer his prime, when he had a significantly higher output and better physicality?

I don't have the monopoly on the truth but that's how I see it.
