    Well he certainly looked like a much better fighter than Barker against Maciel, wouldn't you say? I think he's probably a bit better, but his resume doesn't make him clearly so and doesn't make him the clear next best in the weight. Trying to somehow criticize Martinez for not fighting him when that's the case, especially since HBO has no apparent interest in having him back and especially since he's continued to fight overmatched opponents in Russia, seems somewhat disingenuous to me.

    This all tangential though; PH|LLA wasn't making an argument about how good Pirog but how well known he is and trying to draw a parallel between Top Rank fighters and Martinez on the one hand and Martinez and Pirog on the other. I reject that analogy.
