LeftRip, Come on mate, as I said you honestly think anyone besides Meehan, Leapai or Tua are better than Reed? And then if so, you honestly think they will fight for a WBO HW title sometime in their career?
I'll assume that's a genuine question, and offer a genuine answer >>> There are 250 to 300 heavyweights currently ranked higher than Damon Reed. Having created a database of those fighters in a spreadsheet, I'd apply some selection criteria that enabled sorting by suitability. If that sounds like a lot of work, it isn't. Amounts to a cut & paste exercise mainly. The raw data can be found in any number of places, including Boxrec, and the database created would then have an ongoing usefulness if Mark's serious about this business. If a more competitive opponent than Damon Reed can't be identified using the database, and having run the first set of selection criteria, I'd simply modify the selection criteria, and run it again. If all else failed, I'd give Mark's manager a call, and see who Don himself might care to suggest.
Yes Total pac where the **** do you come up with your opponents?? I mean Mark why can you get a better opponent than old guys who should be retired
Thanks Spider, appreciate the genuine if not somewhere sarcastic answer Other considerations also have to be entered into the database though don't they? Willingness to come to Aust in March, price, visa issues, ability to go rounds, some sort of name etc? Don's his promoter FYI not his manager and as we have seen Mark doesn't seem to be high on his list of priorities at the moment. I truly appreciate your view though Spider, nice to actually have some intelligent conversation (and I'm not being sarcastic)
I'm not involved in choosing his opponents mate, just looking at it with an open mind as it should be. As I asked name me someone that can fill the criteria mentioned and we can discuss the pro's and cons. FYI Dominque Alexander won last month by first round KO. Alexander had a points win and first round KO either side of his loss to Mark which is encouraging.
Wish I was in someways, not in others. I'm a bit prettier, but not quite as young, big, fast or powerful sadly. Mark also looks better in purple
You probably got caught up with the "Sexy Boxing" thing and morphed into him. I won't tell anyone Mark.......
It seems you were looking a little too hard for sarcasm. Because none was intended til I mentioned Don King's name at the very end. The 'considerations' you mentioned are the 'fields' you enter into the database, and they are what enables the sorting capability. I'm sure you'll appreciate that if I can understand how a simple database works, it's unlikely to be rocket science.
While you've got your serious hat on then >>> If Mark just plain enjoys his boxing and is intent on poncing around in a boa and fighting fringe dwellers like Alexander & Reed, and novelty opponents like Karusa, that's all good and I hope he continues to enjoy it :good But if he's actually serious about achieving something. Winning a title for instance. It's time to concentrate more on meeting and beating the right opponents, and less on trying to be the next Rick Flair. After 8 years in the ring, and at nearly 30 years of age, if Mark can't get better match-ups than Damon Reed, and will beating Reed actually open any better doors for him; it may well be time to consider a different career path. >>> and don't search for sarcasm, because there's none intended :good
