I'd go just to see Hopkins in person. Unless it conflicts with the gigs i'm going to this year.

Wouldn’t be so sure. I’m constantly amazed at how little boxers know about the sport, and especially their divisions. He didn’t seem to know when he was on Bruce’s Boxing Hour.

I actually think Dirrell gets a hard time from a lot of people. In terms of how good of a fighter he is, not the fact he's a bit of a dick. Or more than a bit, whatever. You know what I mean.

I don't bother defending him anyways though, because when his fans are worse than he is you've already lost the battle really.

OK, so put the Smirnoff Ice down and explain to me how Cleverly beats Hopkins.

I don't think you can surely believe that Cleverly wins because he is bigger and has a better work-rate. If all you needed was a good workrate to beat Hopkins then he would have been beaten alot more then he has.

Taylor done hopkins twice, although they were dodgy because he gassed in the 2nd half, but anyways, also calzaghe, pascall did well efore he gassed, dawson was beating him easily.

Ive said it handspeed and output, putting in work.

    Who has Hopkins beaten lately?

Pascall who has the lowest workrate ive seen recently

Pavlik, its Pavlik what else do i need to say

roy jones, its roy jones in the 2010's, what else do i need to say.

So really hes beaten one "good" fighter who is a blown up 168lb midget who has 3 round stamina, in the last what, 5 years?

Earl, a few months back DeGale would have destroyed Dirrell according to you. Between that time and now Dirrell has fought two rounds against a journeyman and suddenly he's the best boxer at 168.

Now you're trying to tell us that a guy who was soundly outboxed for large periods against Tony Bellew is the man to beat one of the most proven and craftiest boxers in the game.

Do you ever stop and ask yourself, "Am I really being balanced in my view here, could it be possible that I'm getting a tad carried away?"

Whether you thought he beat Calzaghe or not, he got close and Calzaghe is far better than Cleverly.

Pascal lose clearly both times IMO, a few rounds aren’t that important, Hopkins is a technical fighter who can adjust. Don’t want to get too much into the couple of rounds of the Dawson fight but Chad didn’t land that much of note, so would dispute him winning easily.

It was an unbeaten Pavlik, thought of a lot higher than Clev is. Easy to write it off now.

I know i get carried away, but im having fun.

On dirrell-Degale that was more about how good i mistakenly thought degale was as opposed to dirrell not being good, i still like james but hes gotten left behind

yeah cos they are so alike, i mean a one dimensional middleweight banger and a rounded light heavyweight/cruiserweight boxer, almost mirror images of each other

Dawson wasn't beating him easily (apart from the body slam) if anything the fight was starting to be controlled by Hopkins, did Dawson even land a decent punch?

The reason Joe beat Hopkins was more than just his fantastic workrate, Cleverly is no Calzaghe, he doesn't possess the handspeed, footwork or versatility that Calzaghe has done. He's a different fighter.

I don't know how you can take anything away from Hopkins with the Pascal fights, especially the second one, Hopkins was mocking Pascal throughout. Toying with him.

I'm sure I don't need to tell you that prior to the Hopkins fight that Pavlik was seen as some kind of unstoppable beast, by some atleast, that win is a very good one on Hopkins' record and cannot be disregarded by "it's Pavlik." Even taking into consideration what we now know about Pavlik's lifestyle, doesn't change anything.

The RJJ fight was a glorified exhibition, and embarrasing, I agree this fight holds no weight.
