If you include, Morales vs Pacquiao 3, why not Castillo vs Corrales 2, that was another brilliant fight.

Less tittles back then, so that might have helped the champ fight the #1 contender most of the time don't you think? and Besides Ali how many fighters beat every fighter listed in the top 10, there's a reason why Ali is one of the Greatest, and there's a few dozens who have fought 2 or 3 top 10 fighters in their division. Would you agree, Marquez is one of those few dozens still willing to dare to be great? The guy went up to welter to fight May and Pac, lost one won one, but he did it, but no, it was the money, legacy had nothing to do with Marquez's decision on taking those 2 fights, it was just the money according to many ESB posters, and then Marquez can't even make their top 5 fighters in the world:rofl
Much respect to the fighters that still put in all on the line. Some Fighters who are very underrated and overlooked and rarely even talked about here on ESB.

It was one of the greatest wars, sure. But boxing seems to be the only sport where fighters get criticized for being as effective as possible. Hearns knew he could outbox Leonard but not outbrawl him. Why on earth did he go for an all out war against someone bigger and tougher but slightly less skilled than Leonard? f he can keep Leonard at bay with his jab but lose to him when the fight turned purely physical, what would this suggest strategy - wise for a fight with Hagler? I am sure today Steward would prepare Hearns with a different gameplan.

I'm sure Steward didn't send Tommy out to brawl with Marvin. They just didn't imagine Marvin would come out like a raging bull and rush Hearns like that. It's not a secret that Tommy loved to bang as well, and after his KO of Duran, probably felt he could KO anyone. He allowed himself to be drawn into a brawl, and it was a clash of egos as well, that Marvin was always going to win.

These men are warriors, true legends of the sport and their legacies are far greater than Mayweather's or Pacquaio's,the superstars of today who ducked each other in their primes (2009-2010).

Tommy broke his hand and went out on his shield. Apart from Margarito I can name almost no current boxer who do the same; they would quit immediately.
