I think this thread is slightly confused. Strongest man, p4p or otherwise, who has ever competed in MMA at any level is Pudz. Those who have applied their strength best would be guys like GSP, Hughes and Jones, they combine strength and technique perfectly. Then you've got the ****** freak strength guys like Rampage, Coleman, bulldogging people around the ring or through the air, and Palhares hulking out on peoples limbs
I'm not sure I'd say he's P4P the strongest when it comes to wrestling, but I think Hector Lombard from Bellator deserves honorable mention. He mainly just knocks everybody out, but the dude is deadly and explosive.
I really see this as Hendo big time. His gorilla grip is legendary. Big Nog didn't ask to be picked up from the clinch and taken down with ease multiple times by him.
It's hard to argue with that. C'mon scurlar, I know you're a beast. How easy is it for you to lift a guy your size? Now imagine you're a 150 lb. woman.
Rampage is the answer in my opinion. I would also like to mention Dan Henderson. He may not be quite as strong as Jackson lift for lift, but he may also be around 20 lbs of lean muscle mass behind Rampage. If Edgar keeps beating all this big guys, I'd say he's stronger than your typical little guy. I'm also taking into consideration that he can probably fight at 145.
I think people have forgot the way he handled Hughes in their 2nd & 3rd fights, and Koscheck in their 1st, and Fitch, and Alves...
It was the Alves fight that made me not mention Pierre. I thought Alves looked stronger in that bout. Sure, GSP dominated him. What I noticed is despite not being able to stop the take down, Alves kept powering himself back to his feet.
Gotta be Rampage for me, some of those slams are ridiculous, where he's in no sort of position to get them up
