Eddie seems a good guy and a promoter who has balls, hope he takes the Brit scene over in the coming years
Surely Eddie Didn't get Froch the Ward fight, as he was already in the Super 6 before they teamed up??:huh
The fact that Hearn could've attempted to prevent Froch from facing Ward doesn't change the fact that he didn't arrange for the fight to take place. Furthermore neither promoter has covered themselves in glory in the past year; Hearn just gets more credit because he generally pits his stable against live opposition (with the exception of Brook's opponent for his stateside debut). However, as I stated in that other thread I don't see why it has to be an either or approach. Whilst defeat to Barker hasn't seemingly hampered his status or his chances of landing further defining fights in the future, I still wouldn't encourage a promoter to send his man abroad to face a consensus p4p top three fighter when his own man has yet to fight even a single fringe world class fighter. As for ****** he has displayed on numerous occasions that he is clueless when it comes to building his fighters into world class proposition. He allowed Hatton and Calzaghe to waste large periods of their careers fighting mediocre opposition; he allowed Khan to feast upon a succession of chinny/undersized/shot/featherfisted opponents on route to his first round destruction at the hands of Prescott; and most recently he threw Kevin Mitchell in at the deep end against Michael Katsidis when Mitchell had really only fought at best two live opponents.
If Hearn even dreamt of trying to pull Froch out of that fight he'd have had a slap from Carl. It's nonsensical.
Eddie Hearn seems to get credit for getting his fighters fights where they are long odds like barker and Mccloskey who both lost by stoppage yet the man who cant be named gets pelters for bringing in these type of fighters for his champions all most no hopers
I'm merely pointing out the hypocrisy of certain people. The fact of the matter is, how can you have a pop at a fellow promoter for putting his fighters against the best.
I've spoke to people from their company and they just can't see what we can it seems. I genuinely wish them the best I hope they see the light but their having an awful time of it and some would say deservedly so.
Well Bunce had that coming. He wrote an article in the Independent the other week having a few sly digs at Eddie Hearn and about how Froch should be matced up over the coming year. Smacked of Bunce throwing a few pebbles from inside the Boxnation glass house
