It's not an assumption that Ward doesn't want to fight Bute next, it's a fact. Lucian Bute was the consensus challenger to the super-six winner according to fans and Boxing media like ESB, ESPN Boxing, Maxboxing, Showtime and B-Scene. Instead, Ward publicly stated he rather fight a lower ranked fighter (than Bute) and an opponent he already beat in Kessler and have Bute fight Froch instead.

What comprehensible explanation is there for Ward to publicly give reasons why he shouldn't have to fight Bute, other than he doesn't want the fight right away. Mind you, Ward felt the need to single out Bute as an opponent he shouldn't have to fight only days removed from his super-six tournament victory.

The only people saying Ward shouldn't have to fight Bute right away is Ward himself and his fans. Ward fans obviously feel defensive about the statement he made himself publicly and the only way to defend that sentiment is to bash Bute's resume.

Ken Hershman, the man who masterminded the super-six did not invite Bute to participate in the tournament, so Bute was quarantined from the best 168 pounds in the world for two years. Whats important now is, Bute is willing and wanting to fight the best. It's Ward who feels he shouldn't have to fight the number two ranked guy in the most appealing fight that can be made in the division.

Yeah, I wonder how anything like that could happen.

    ......

    .......

That being said, It's been 2+ weeks since his last fight. Ward has also said he wanted to fight Bute, back before he said he wasn't worthy

Either way, you oughta know how these things work. Guys try to leverage each other like crazy. Especially if they know they need each other. The only time fights are made easy nowadays, especially at the top level, is when one guy has nothing to lose and has no leverage. If it gets to a year or 3, then I'd start to worry. Until then, why bother?

The ideal scenario for Glass Jaw Bute and his team is to keep fighting stiffs in his backyard for good money. This guy has no desire to leave Canada and fight the best. None.

There is no way Bute comes to Denmark to fight Kessler (a lot of the Bute afficionados agree on this)... This actually sound like a scheme to fight Froch only one time... My guess is that Interbox plans to have that fight in canada!

regarding him not wanting to travel...getting old. if u are of those who keep saying he wont travel, regardless off saying outloud I WANT TO FIGHT IN THE STATES...ILL FIGHT WARD IN OAKLAND... IL GO TO ENGLAND... now some of you will say, talk is cheap. well if you believe its a bluff to look good, i wunder why no one has even dared call him out on that, not even kessler come back with a counter offer ex. ill face you but in denmark...did not happen. it cant be simpler...no one is calling him out, not even lowballing him with 1 danish crone. they dont dare because they now he is at the point where he might just say...u know what, ill do it.... it seams to be a scary thing to call him out, regardless of place or % split.

I think that's a great scenario, while andre dirrell lurks in the shadows and proves he's still an elite 168 pounder, but is this ideal scenario coming after ward said bute should fight some elite guys, or before?

also, i'm a ward fan, but more of a fan of the super middleweight class in general. I think the top ten is stacked with andre dirrell on the verge of regaining entry, but I will honestly lose respect for ward if he fights kessler. there's no explanation for that. he absolutely dominated him. if anything, fight anthony dirrell or andre dirrell, and let bute see if he can handle kessler and/or froch.

Keep believing, maybe when Bute has retired you will start realising... "HEY! he actually didn't fight outside Canada!", then again I guess by that time you will still think everyone with a pulse avoided him. Even people who funny enough were willing to travel to fight and lose against other opponents.

And now I will anticipate being called something degrading, as that is the easiest comeback, when you dont like or disagree with something, for most people

What about Bute's resume indicates he would ever fight a top 5 fighter at 168?!?

    Please, someone answer me this.

Showtime should feel that Bute is a black hole.

2 mil for the Magee fight
2 mil for the Johnson fight

and 2 mil for a Froch fight? Yeah, that one is worth it, but is it worth 6 mil? Cause the Magee fight was classic Bute vs. non-top 10 no hoper.

Only specific example I can give you, was a fight with Kessler some years ago by now, Bute's team admitted Bute wasn't ready yet by that time, which all in all was fair enough.

Do you have the offers (figures) yourself for all these rumoured fighters (Kessler, Froch, Pavlik) who have apparently ducked Bute, no? You chose to take his teams word for it, because they could NEVER be telling a lie or exaggerate?

But time will show who is right, apparently Bute fans like to believe in a 2 fight agreement with Froch, I say it will be 1 fight and it will be... in Canada. Lets see how that turns out. I will gladly admit if I turn out to be wrong, and i do mean GLADLY, because then we can get the fights we want to see.

Dirrell is most likely a nightmare for anyone at SMW but he is also a disgrace that should never be allowed to box again, no matter his "potential".

Edit: I assume you talk about Andre Dirrell ;)
