My god thats a sickening visual to have in your head poor cotto would be beaten to a bloody pulp and brutally knocked unconcious. They would have to have trained medical personel and an ambulance at ringside, and have the roads to the hospital cleared of traffic

I can imagine how bad he could punch himself out while eating counters over his wide shots.

Kirkland might have more power and explosiveness but he is fairly rough compared to Cotto. He'd have to blow Cotto out of there, because I could see him getting embarrassed in a boxing match.

It's a good fight IMO. Both of them would be liable to be caught and stopped. Cotto's skill vs Kirkland's power and aggression. Interesting.

Yeah I could visualise a 1 or 2 round stoppage for Kirkland but if it goes to0 long I think Kirkland would be stopped late.

Cotto outboxes him all night and probably drops him with some nice counters. TKO win for Cotto

I'm thinking Cotto will be okay early. I actually think Kirkland is the one who needs to be worried early, where the deeper it goes the riskier it becomes for Cotto.

It's really a lot like the story with Margarito--can Cotto gain and maintain Kirkland's respect? If he can't, Cotto could be in some serious trouble.

Cotto needs to be able to keep Kirkland honest with power shots that prevent him from entering his steam-roller mode.

KIRKLAND=PAuline Williams.... In the sense that he is another Ko waiting to exist. Ishida did it. Angulo put him on the canvas, when Cotto does Kirkland isn't gonna do what he did to Angulo... Or in better words, Cotto isn't gonna outpunch himself like Angulo did! Cotto ko 8 with a possibility of a first/second round ko.. Kirkland doesn't want this fight unless he wants to start all over again or be considered a gatekeeper after another early tko.......
