Carnera has too much height on him, and a good jab that he can use from a safe distance. I don't know if I can see Galento winning a single round.

I'm not sure that Two Ton can reach Primo's chin.
That is a foot difference in height and reach.
If THE ONE MAN RIOT can land the hook he can use the same Knee Drop he used to finish off Lou Nova and win :)

tony Galento knocked out some tall fighters like Ace Clark and Leonard Dixon who were same height as carnera or maybe taller
but Carnera was a lot better than guys like that. carnera was actually a good fighter despite what some have said about him

Conn, I agree. Carnera, who doesn't look horrific against Louis, showed the will to win against Loughran, displayed his power against Sharkey and proved his guts against Baer, was not the joke of a fighter most make him out to be.

the only real flaw i can see in carnera's boxing is how he alllowed himself to get hit by right hands a little to often. otherwise i can see him showing some skills you dont see so often these days from heavyweights - parrying, spinning his opponent, sneaky uppercuts. he was also quite light on his feet and fast for his size
he movement was a bit ungainly at times and people say 'uncordinated" but any fighterf at 6-6 and 260+ pounds is like that. its funny ive read old articles from before the baer fight and the writers actually rated carnera highly. it was only after he got koed by Maxie that the so-called experts started to say he was never any good to start with. A familiar story in boxing

Carnera's record is padded with tank jobs, including the very same Ace Clark ,who was persuaded to lose interest in a fight he was winning against Primo by being shown a revover in his corner.
Having said that, I still pick Primo by dec, if he keeps his chin out of range of Galento's hook.

Carnera did not win a round against Louis.

In his autobioghraphy Louis said," he had nothing".

With all those KO's , [72 from 88 wins].why do you think Carnera is not in the 100 top punchers book?

He is not alone as far as padded records goes at HW......

He had decent wins.........Uzcudun 2x, Victorio Campolo, Ernie Schaaf, Sharkey, Loughran....he wasn´t a great fighter but he wasn´t a joke, wasn´t a bad fighter......

I pick Primo by late TKO.....being koed by Louis and Baer is not a shame......Galento was dangerous for sure, but he was the epitome of the crude fighter.....Carnera´s skills is underrated....better mobility, decent jab, great uppercut, good infighting skills.....decent power, and a very tough guy.....
Galento had heart and a good punch, that´s it.....
