How would a prime Bowe have fared against the Klitschkos?

Bowe would get dominated plain and simple. He was simply to stupid to beat smart fighters. Ring IQ is what Bowe lacked. Add heart and discipline to the mix and you get a homeless, retired ex-champ bum that Bowe is today.

There's no way he beats Vitali.

How about we say that the Fights would be a hell of a lot better than the present Heavyweight fights.

Who would you rather watch, Bowe vs Holy or Wlad vs anyone?

  6. KO over Wlad in 4.
    TKO over Dr.Paperskin in 8 or 9.
Vitali could barely take Corrie Sanders.

Lewis also lost to Tyrell Biggs in the Olympics prompting him to stay an amateur for another 4 years as opposed to going pro after the 84 Olympics.

Tillman beat Mike Tyson twice in the amateurs and Mike returned the favor emphatically when they met as professionals.

    As for the thread.

Legacy wise Wlad is greater than Bowe.
    Bowe is greater than Vitaly.

    H2H
I would confidently pick a 92 Bowe over Wlad.

Thing is Wladimir Klitschko is a momentum fighter much like Lennox Lewis was and he uses his height and size advantage very effectively where he operates almost exclusively from behind a jab and and occasional right hand. He is very difficult to get to but he is by no means unbeatable if you can exploit his vulnerabilities. You essentially need a combination of attributes; speed, power and athleticism. As long as you have 2 out of 3 you essentially have the tools to beat him. Bowe has good hand speed, power, athleticism and size. He had a varied attack and can fight well from both the inside and the outside. His versatility and attributes lead me to believe that he should be favored over Wlad. Not to mention his 2 out of 3 wins over Evander Holyfield suggest that he can perform well against top flight opposition.

Vitaly is a bit different; his unorthodox style and durability makes this a tougher contest. Vitaly can be pretty difficult to hit in succession so although Bowe can crack he lacks the one punch power to put him out in one shot and is therefore is going to have to outwork Vitaly and turn it into a dogfight in order to win. While I don't rule out a Bowe victory, I think Vitaly's durability, workrate and awkward style may win the day. Unlike against Wlad, I don't see Bowe landing that fight changing punch that turns momentum. Vitaly will get stunned at some point like he did against Lewis (who incidentally was a bigger puncher than Bowe) but he'll likely survive to win a close but clear decision.

Bowe loses 2 belts. 1 in the trash for each brother.

    :deal Great post.

I completely agree. The athletic, hard hitting Bowe takes Wlad out but has a neck and neck 12 rounder with Vitali. It's impossible to look good against Vitali, who wins the decision.

Bowe was a very good, but flawed fighter. Sure he was big and could fight very well on the inside for a big man but he was technically flawed as well. He didn't have great mobility, anyone that gave him movement gave him problems and he was too easy to hit.

Both Klitschkos would give him problems because they would look to keep him at arms length and not allow him to work on the inside. Both brothers are big enough and strong enough to be able to tie him up effectively when he did get close.

I think Vitali beats him, he's too tough, too good at controlling the distance and has the workrate to match a prime Bowe. Vitali wins a clear decision in a competitive bout.

Wlad could outbox Bowe and if he gets adventurous even stop him as he hits harder than Golota but the most likely scenario is Wlad looking for a safety first approach. Bowe would get out boxed for long periods but he showed against Golota than even when taking a brutal beating he had the heart to comeback and land powerful punches, which were more than capable of stopping Wlad. Wlad's lack of offence cost's him as he simply doesn't do enough damage to Bowe during the course of the fight to discourage or weaken Bowe, who comes back from behind and stops a tiring Wlad, who struggles with the pressure and pace prime Bowe sets.

A '92 Bowe flattens Wlad & would uppercut Vitali's head into the cheap seats.

On talent & ability Bowe is a level above both brothers, its a shame he lacked their dedication & longevity.

    Absolutely.

Bowe can still win, but I'm the odds maker I'd have Vitaly as the slight favorite.

I'll go 50/50 for both. 50/50 decision in an awkward mess with Vitali and 50/50 in a mid-round knockout ending with Wladimir.
