That just proves it, African-american fighters gets way overhype. He got knocked out by a career 9 KO fighter, knocked down by every jab that touches his chin and suddenly he is a great fighter.

He is a way inferior version of Jeff Lacy (at least Lacy has chin) but at least there is a reason to overhype Lacy.

 

Cotto would stop him late on in the fight, Angulo could have stopped him but made the mistake of going full throttle like ishida did and ignored beristans gameplan and punched himself out. Im sure Cotto would take this into consideration and box beautifullly like he did against margarito and apply the pressure on later in the fight when Kirkland gasses.

regardless i dont think this fight will happen, im not entirely sure but isnt kirkland a goldenboy fighter?

Completely understand why people are picking Cotto but I would favor Kirkland in this fight. I still don't have full faith in Cotto at this weight, especially since we haven't really seen him in with a live puncher. Like I said, I understand that there are lots of questions about Kirkland too, but my gut says he wins this match-up.
