can you imagine how bad Kirkland would Murder Cotto?

Show me one report where it says that Mayorga dislocated his thumb based on verified doctor statements? The report came from the loser....and I'm sorry but a hurt thumb wouldn't KO a badass like Mayorga.... Most felt Mayorga quit....and reporters "report"... They simply were doing their job quoting Mayorgas excuse for quitting.

 

That would be a good fight, but i just see Cotto outboxing Kirkland and has better foot work. Cotto via UD or late stoppage.

 

Mayorga always gives a good fight...well aside from DLH where he got blasted.. but most.of the time Mayorga gave most of the top fighters a rough time...he just could never win the big fights after dominating vernon (rip) yrs ago. I thought it was a good win for miguel...against a much bigger man.

 

Once again, you only believe something if there's an x-ray, that's your only argument. But in the Bernard situation there wasn't any immediate ringside doctors verified diagnosis, that came weeks later.

Tell me, how in the **** can you rationalize Mayora quitting with less than a minute left in the fight, unless he couldn't physically fight back? He's been knocked out in the 12th by the much harder hitting Mosley, but you want to believe he quit with seconds left in a fight he was competitive in. Dude, grow up.

"Reports from ringside" are not "quotes from Mayorga", there is a difference.

 

Very exciting match up hands down! Very gutsy fight for Cotto cus Kirkland will be real hungry in this fight but that can fall into a dissadvantage if he over do it and get cought with a nice counter by Cotto. At the same time Kirkland can land a prayer and take Cotto out if he catches him. Another story of SKILL vs WILL in this fight imo..

Mayorga hasn't won a significant fight in an even longer time than Margarito. You regard that win in a much better light than I do; there's a reason Cotto was 1/12 to win. It was nothing more than a stay-busy or get-active fight against a shot fighter with a little name value left.

 

Cotto can outbox this guy... Cotto maybe too slick for him and would hurt him. but Kirkland recovers well... and would be right in there... cotto would have to be careful, Kirkland no where near as durable as a Margo, but has FAR more power lol and would be over him every second.

 

James made a believer out of me when he Knocked out Angulo! Perro is a tough SOB and Kirkland stopped him! Would Cotto be able to take power punches from James? No way!

Cotto wouldnt have too all day like Angulo would. Cotto is supremely superior to Angulo in boxing ability, speed, footspeed, and movement. Cotto just needs to stay off the ropes, and be cautious, because Kirkland really doesnt need to be set to throw hard punches, as he is wild, but cotto could give him enough angles to keep him off balance... but Kirkland will put leather on him eventually, as he does have more speed than Margo and his faster on his legs.
