"Then you look at the WBA supervisor, Michael Walsh, who is a certified public accountant and CPA by profession, and probably the man with the most experience that night sitting ringside there.
“Certainly from an accounting point of view, but as well from a fight official point of view, he was involved in many other championship fights before. And he kept, as it is customary, a WBA master score sheet which used as an input the same information as the District of Columbia Boxing Commission used for their scorecard. It’s basically the individual per rounds score slips, which are collected from the referee and then supposed to be given to the Commission.
“So the Commission keeps the master score sheet, so does the WBA, and so does the IBF. Therefore the results would be the same, right, because they all use the same information. Well shockingly it was not, it was different. It was the same for the scorecard of Nelson Vasquez, who had it for Khan, and it was the same for Valerie Dorsett, who had it for Peterson,

“Dave Itskowitch, our Chief Operating Officer and certainly one of the most honest and straight-forward people I have ever met, and all of those, those of you who know him, certainly would agree with me. He actually saw the card, the official WBA card with his own eyes right after the fight. And the WBA’s not disputing that the WBA card is different from the official, ah, from the official card."

The WBA master score card scored the fight incorrectly as a draw by incorrectly logging George Hill's card as a draw.

If 'Hat man' did anything it was to Khan's benefit, not Peterson's.

    Referee Joe Cooper, Virginia:

Skinny: "You know, he probably would have worked a lot more fights, and he's been refereeing a long time, but he hasn't worked a lot of fights because there's not a lot of big boxing around here. He works mostly in Washington, D.C., and Virginia. He lives in Virginia.

"People that have seen him like him a lot so I'm sure that he'll do a good job. He's probably one of the more experienced guys that they have down here. If they're going to use a local, then Joe Cooper is fine with me."

    Judge Valerie Dorsett, North Carolina:

Skinny: "Brilliant woman. She's from Charlotte, North Carolina. She's got God knows how many masters' degrees. She's the chief attorney for transportation and safety administration for the states of North Carolina and South Carolina, and before she worked for the TSA, she worked for the federal aviation administration.

"So she's been with the federal government for a long time. She's so experienced boxing, though, that at one time, she was the state athletic comission chairman for the state of Georgia. So she's got a ton of experience. She's a good, IBF judge."

    Judge George Hill, New Jersey:

Skinny: "He's been around since around 1989, and he's a former sparring partner for Bennie Briscoe. Now that takes a lot of guts. He's a good judge. He judges a lot in Philadelphia, and I believe he lives in Philadelphia.

"He's a real veteran in sections of Philadelphia. He's from the old Georgie Benton school of boxing, and a typical Philadelphia left-hooker. A helluva judge and a nice man. He's a very old school judge and I like him a lot."

    Judge Nelson Vazquez, Puerto Rico:

Skinny: "Nelson Vazquez, in all honesty is one of the most experienced judges in the entire world. He's very good. He works mostly for the WBO, but he's worked previous fights for the IBF -- a lot of them.

"Last week, he worked on one of the undercards on the Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito in New York. Very, very experienced judge. He's judged a long, long time, since the 1980s."

Columbo scored the fight 113-112 for Khan, but can understand a close decision for Peterson. He would like to know who was that guy with the hat, tough...

I think the point Shaefer is making, is that all cards should be the same. But on that particular night, they weren't. He's convinced that the WBA one had the fight a draw. He says:

So if the WBA one was a draw, then they're thinking the other ones could have been draws, too (because they should all be the same if they're using the same information). Then, before they could match up the scorecards, the IBF one disappears:

It's strange how the referee jetted of without having an interview taken.
The vanishing of the IBF scorecards and two days later appearing back?
    Who is hat man?
    Something's wrong.
Tbh I want to hear the verdict as this drama is taking some credibility off Lamont's SD win.

  12. Yes it is a little confusing. You do have a point though about him wanting to compare with the IBF master card. He doesn't mention anything about the District of Columbia Boxing Commission master score sheet, other than they have one too. I wasn't even aware of all this master score card business until now anyway.

My point though is that Khan is now getiing all excited about 'Hat man' interfering with Walsh and the WBA master score card, as if this is some smoking gun that points to altering the scores in favour of Peterson. This is clearly not the case as all that 'Hat man' appears to have done is make Walsh incorrectly log Hill's score as a draw (instead of 113-112 for Peterson) and therefore the overall score as a SD draw (instead of an SD win for Peterson).

So, in effect, 'Hat man' got Khan an extra point on the WBA master score card by interfering with Walsh. If it was down to 'Hat man' the fight would have been declared a draw and Khan would have kept his titles.

So what's Khan complaining about him for?

If you think about it your way then yes hatman was a blessing in disguise. I think this will back fire on Khan. He thinks he's clever but we in a matter of half an hour have come up with alternative reasonings.

His only last hope is the red tied dude... why is he so for him to speak up? Amir must know something that we don't.

Michael Walsh the guy in the red tie apparently said his score cards didn't match up to the others, it wasn't fair and he looked really scared and he was told to butt out and there was nothing he could do.. Since then no one has heard from him

I want Michael Walsh to come out and speak out about what was going on, its only right and fair to do so

Why was Red tied Michael scared and of whom? Who told him to butt out? Hatman been stalking Michael lol

  15. On Michael Walsh's master score card he had the fight as a draw. That implies that either he made a mistake in logging the individual scores, or it implies that the judges score cards were altered after he had logged each individual round. The discrepancy is with only Hill's card.

Either way it has nothing to do with 'Hat man' as he is only interacting with Walsh. The only thing 'Hat man' can have done is make Walsh score Hill's card incorrectly as a draw, and therefore the overall fight as a draw. This would be actually benefitting Khan.
