Talented cruiserweight Troy Ross will fight on the February 4th Sauerland card in Germany. No opponent has yet been named. Ross appeared to be on his way to defeating Steve Cunningham when he was injured from a thumb to the eye and it was ruled a TKO win for Cunningham. I'm not all that interested in seeing Ross, Cunningham and Hernandez except against each other so we can get some closure between the three and determine the best of them.
As for what order that happens in, I'm not sure about my preference. Hernandez vs. Ross, then the winner vs. Cunningham? Cunningham vs. Hernandez II, winner vs. Ross? Cunningham vs. Ross II, winner vs. Hernandez? None really stands out above the others for me. :think
Acceptable for a stay-busy date, but the opposition will have to improve. Ross isn't getting any younger. He needs to get back in the title hunt in a hurry before the window closes.
Is it going to be Braithwaite? He would be the right opponent for now, considering Ross has been inactive for many months.
:happy Just hope that Braithwaite doesn't catch Ross regarding him lightly and upset the apple cart. I have no interest in seeing the Cunningham-Hernandez winner against Big Truck. (USS already sonned him; YPH would do the same and maybe do one better and become the first to legitimately stop him) It's not a big danger, but it's there if Ross doesn't keep his wits about him. I never though much of Braithwaite, but he can whack a bit and will probably be motivated knowing this is his last-ever chance. Troy can't treat this as another day at the office, least of all casual Friday. Braithwaite is no world-beater but he's not one of the bowling pins Ross was striking down on the Contender, either.
