Top 5 Most Dominant Heavyweights of Your Lifetime.

Longevity is a big factor but Bowe was the premiere heavyweight while Tyson was in prison, from 92-95, taking 2 outta 3 against Holyfield. Maybe I should place Wlad ahead of him but Bowe's competition was superior. Holyfield would be 6th on my list.

Let's Try 6-10 now. Here goes off the top of my head.

6. Riddick "Big Daddy" Bowe
7. Michael Moorer (Big wins include Evander Holyfield, Bert Cooper, Frans Botha, Vaughn Bean)
8. George Foreman(KO'd Michael Moorer to regain heavyweight title at the age of 45)
9. Shannon Briggs(was lineal Heavyweight champ until he was dropped 5 times and stopped by Lennox Lewis. Also WBO champ.)
10. Ray Mercer(Didn't know who else to pick, but his brutal KO of Tommy Morrison to gain the WBO title put him there by default.)

 

For some reason I never regarded Holyfield as "dominating". He has a great legacy (if you disregard him still fighting as negative for his legacy) but I never thought of Evander as a guy who was "undisputed king of the hill" for his entire era. He never was.

So you can have a valid opinion on any guys active dating back to your birth that you see footage of. :good

I was a diaper nugget in Holmes' heyday, but I can still look back and say the man was dominant. (and in my HW top three OAT )

 

31 years old, born in 1980.

1. Tyson. I'm old enough to remember how, even in grade school, everyone was talking about him, and how that talk changed from being about how the next guy he fought was going to be the one to give him a real fight to how he was going to blow out the next guy he fought. Haven't seen anything like it since.

2. Holmes. Not old enough to remember anything from his reign, but starting from a few years before I was born until just before my 5th birthday Larry was the man, and I rate him very highly as a heavyweight.

3. Lewis. Dominant for a long period, despite the occasional upset loss, and against generally decent competition, if faded.

4. Wlad. Dominant for a long time, despite the occasional upset loss. Has fought crap competition, (although that's not his fault for the most part) so I rate him lower than Lewis.

5. Vitali. Has never suffered the upset KOs his brother has, but his career has been plagued with injuries and sidetracked for years at a time, so I rate him lower, even though I think it's harder to beat Vitali than Wlad.

 

Even when Vitali doesn't KO his opponents his barely drops a single round. That's the very def. of DOMINATION! :deal
