Is kind of hard for Bute to be able to lose to Calzaghe Ward and Kessler.
Since Joe is retired and Ward and Kessler avoid him like a plague.

Bute only needs to lose Ward and Kessler beat Froch and his resume will be stellar.

Kessler will always have the edge unless Bute either beats him or Ward

Kessler obviously has the far better resume at the moment. But he has also been a top fighter for far longer.

He was competing in an era where Bute was not on the world scene at all. In those days the top top guys were Calzaghe, Beyer, Mundine, and Siaca. Kessler met them all and beat them except for Calzaghe away in Wales.

Today the top guys are Ward, Froch etc. and this is the generation Bute is competing with now.

But Kessler obviously has a far deeper resume.

And even if Bute beats Kessler that will only mean Bute is better H2H, not that he has a better resume.

UD Johnson vs KO7 Stieglitz: Stieglitz

Pure speculation. Let us see what happens first.

If you have to use a fight that hasnt happened to define a fighters resume then, well do I really need to finish that line of thought?

Bute resume is crap. And because of that we have no clue as to how good he is or isnt.

I remember just a short time ago that another fighter from up North was riding a huge hype wave. Steve Molitor was Bute a few years ago, then he fought an elite fighter and go blown out. This could very well happen to Bute. Then again maybe it doesnt.

Bottomline is people have gone too far with the hype of a guy that doesnt have the in ring success that pushes the out of ring hype.

    In 6 months:

1: How many zeros has Bute taken?
2: How many times has he fought in his opponents backyard?

    My guess is none...

He is one of the biggest Calzaghe fans on this broad, so he has to make sure to defend Kessler, of course because its Joes only clear cut big win.

I agree with most of what he said however. Except for the Bika Mundine one. Bika is a much better win then Mundine in real life. Of course on paper one could go with Mundine being that he he did win a belt.

You're right. But what's interesting is that what you said is irrelevant. Don't have to take someone's 0 or to fight in the opponent's backyard to have a better resume.
Ha, but the most funny one has to be that with the 0 part :). Can't believe people are still looking for virgins these days.
Mendy was a virgin, but an ugly one so no one cared about that.

I'll give you that the zeros are overrated. Doesn't make them irrelvent though. Opponents backyard is important when judging the impact of the fight on the resumé.

    IMO of course.

    PS: Forgot about Mendy haha.
