I was happening to watch both fighters tonight not with intentions of comparing them. But how long do you see this one going before Tito gets Laid the **** out? Lol? had a few beers so excuse me. good fight while it lasts i guess
Tito gets taken to 15 round school by Griffith..and since Griff was more of a puncher/ko man at welter (well, more than he was at middle)...that he could even stop Tito. All I know is that he would beat Tito.
im not very educated on older fighters but looking at there records, emile griffith was hardly a devasting puncher and tito's chin wasnt glass. cant really see a knockout.
Well, Griffith was a bit more inclined to put more into his punches at welter..especially before the paret tragedy. i think Griffith always had the capacity to be a harder puncher, like when he decked Nino in their first and second bouts, and the way he more or less thrashed Tom Bogs at times, having the Dane down 3 times in their 10 rounder back in the early 70's. As he settled into the middleweight division..became a legit middle, by then his style had pretty much become the patented Griffith style of his..with minimal reliance on power. Tito, on the other hand..to me anyway, was tarnished somewhat, even at his best by his reachable chin and the fact that he was put down periodically. It's very possible that the Griff that willingly laid it on as a welter, like he did vs Paret, could have done some damage to Tito.
