So why has the vice Pres of the WBA just come out and said that after the new controversy about 'Hatman' Amir Khan deserves a rematch? :-(They know something is amiss
Since when did the WBA have a ****ing clue what they were doing or talking about anyway? I'd say that Khan probably deserves a rematch. But you don't get what you deserve. You get what you ****ing negotiate!
Yeah, the WBA is well-known for its integrity in protecting the rights of its 78 champions of varying stripes. It won't have anything to do with the massive sanctioning fee the belt org will generate from a rematch compared to Peterson fighting his mandatory, will it?
It doesnt matter. You say Khan doesnt have grounds to make an issue but now the WBA are saying he should get a rematch. So if he does force the rematch he made the right choice.
When Maidana asked for and also deserved a rematch, WBA just made up another new belt for him. Maybe they ought to just do the same for the king..
You brought up the WBA's endorsement as if it proved a point, but it's pretty obvious it has no credibility. The IBF has some, despite its shady past. I think you've missed the point somewhat. I understand Khan's motives for doing this (even if neither he nor his team is honest about it), but let's not pretend it's for the greater good of boxing. It isn't. It hasn't been from the start. I didn't see Khan giving a rematch to Limond, Barrera or Maidana, even though they were all unlucky due to inept refereeing, certainly worse than Cooper's. But, surprise, that doesn't fit the agenda so it's conveniently forgotten.
What's the difference? Maidana lost by about a point or two as well. He was deducted a point for "an elbow" as well. How often do you see points deducted for that? :think
**** the greater good of boxing. Why should khan care about that?! Hes in it for HIMSELF. and if he feels that HE HIMSELF got ****ed over coz of corrupt officials, then anyone who bashes him for it is a pure hater. He HAS to says hit like its for the good of boxing. do you really expect him to say ''yea i dont care about the good of boxing, i just care that i got robbed''?!. if he did say that, haters on this site would go into overdrive and cuss him EVEN more. so its lose-lose for khan with his haters.
more often than for pushing. Besides, was there any suspicion of wrong doings? no. was there a man wearing a hat ringside? no. Was his trainer clapping when he was knocked down? no. So nice try
Of course it ****ing matters. The alphabets (barring the IBF) are obviously going to act in the best interests of their bank account - it's why Marquez hasn't defended his lightweight belts for over a year yet there's little sign of them giving him grief over it. Assuming the fees are 3%, a cut of over $2m is bound to be worth more than Ricky Burns vs Anthony Crolla to them. Also why Mayweather hasn't been stripped of his title, when they can coin the best part of $1m from him and whoever his opponent may be, whereas Peter was effectively put on notice to fight Vitali or **** off. The WBA saying there should be a rematch is a bit like you going to your master with the begging bowl and asking to be paid, with a few slops of food if anything's left.
