Khan at it again

  1. The Mayweather fight has gone, regardless.

This isn't Lewis being sparked by Rahman and possibly losing the Tyson fight..... Mayweather can fight me and make $30m. He doesn't need Khan at all.

Doing this only makes him look daft, when they should have just put in a rematch clause or made Peterson a generous offer for a return in March/April.

Laz, I have no issue with WHY Khan and co are doing it. I think it's petty and spiteful, but hey - all different views, right?

My problem is the pretence and the, frankly, surreal attention on a totally peripheral issue of a bloke in a hat being a bit of a nuisance.

They want a rematch, ok, but trying to bully Peterson into one just makes Khan look bad. You're a balanced poster, surely you see that?

Fat Dan said they couldnt put a rematch clause in because Peterson was mando for IBF belt. Petersons been offered $1m payday to face Khan May 19 in LA but right now he isnt accepting because he has a slim chance of a Manny fight in June.

Let the boxing bodies do their job on Jan 17/18th, they know whats right and what's wrong, evidence will be presented on Khan's behalf and a hearing to the bodies panel will be made.

It's a great tool the press, Khan had them on his side today and it's great to see U.K Press pushing for answers and backing their British fighter, same goes to BBBOC, did I get that right.

Well done for once the people at Sky, I don't always talk best of them but today they tried to dig every hole and gave the issue a lot of air time.

Any conclusive evidence of this? Or is this merely postulation?

My largely unscientific attempts to assess if there was indeed a noticeable consensus before the cards were announced seems to suggest that opinion was split fairly evenly down the middle. In the general, of those who bothered to declare a winner before Peterson was given the nod, 11 scored the fight to Khan, 10 to Peterson, and 6 had it even.

In the British forum, of those who coould be bothered to declare a winner 3 had Khan winning, & yep, you've guessed it, 3 had Peterson winning.

Most surprisingly, after the scores for the fight were announced many (apparently objective folk, as opposed to Khan fanboys), declared that Khan was unfortunate, and indeed the victim of 'hometown cooking', (not something I agree with btw)

And from what little i've read, it would seem press reports had Khan edging the fight as well. If you have any evidence to the contrary, enlighten me. I'm more than willing to admit I could be wrong on this one.

Furthermore the above statement in bold leads me to question your objectivity. Fair enough he's pissed you of, and you have reason to believe his petulance is attracting unwarranted bad publicity to the sport, but to 'hope (that) he gets ****ed up'? That suggests a hatred verging on the irrational. Or it could be a crass outburst. I don't know.

We know Hat Man is an IBF official but we still dont know why he was there in a unofficial role & what he was doing.

I'm more interested in finding out about that than I am about a rematch being or not being ordered.
