You make lots of sense. It's a shame that the fighting style Steward had Wlad adopt is so damn efficient. Ruling over the sport with a three punch arsenal. Who does that? Those advantages you spoke of, I personally believe to be truly massive. Wlad looks like a real mesomorph to me. If he wasn't a boxer, just a normal fit guy his age, he'd weigh 230 pounds. So with a 240 fighting weight he only carries around 10 pounds of extra muscle. This is equivalent to a WW only weighing 6 pounds above their normal person weight. There's lot of champs in lots of divisions who don't have that luxury and no Heavyweight champ has had that luxury for a long time. High power to weight ratio Fastest, most naturally moving 6'6 fighter the sport has ever seen. and as for the chin. Well his chin itself is fine. Never seen him sparked cold and Sanders had a great chance and if you wanted someone to do it he's a good choice. I reckon Wlad's problem is just that he's so much better than everyone he's fought/sparred he barely gets hit. No-one takes less damage. So as for the bad intent. Wlad still has all those pre-Steward punches in his arsenal. You hear about it from his sparring partners, trainer etc. You see them rarely too. Like with his old sparring partner Thompson. He led into three exchanges with a right uppercut. All in a row. I firmly believe that he and his brother carry these challengers to fill thier obligations to RTL. Free to air TV. Big money lost on a short fight. Nothing will change until this is addressed. Vitali carrying Tomaz after the second round was disgracefully obvious and Wlad is even worse. He fights on cruise control. Just does enough to keep his opponent at bay, wear them down without getting hit till the 30 minute mark then move it up a dozen gears and spark them out. Peter 2 fight was obvious. Jab, Right and Grapple. Dont get hit. Dont throw too hard. Just the usual. Then he came out in the tenth jumping around like a kid. Threw heaps of hooks, including his right. Tried to throw in the clinch. Then threw 25 unanswered punches while chasing Peter around. Didn't stop when Peter threw, didn't stop when he, himself got out of position and off balance. Yes Wlad can still do it. Yes he should do it. If not all the time then every few fights at the very least. Hit and not be hit is the obvious point of the whole thing but a bit of Mongrel in a fighter is always a good thing and everyone loves a highlight reel KO. but he can never have big bro's personality. A Mr Perfect type can never be the badass.
You are talking about the 3-punch-arsenal and the pre-steward-punches-arsenal. Trust me when I say that Steward is teaching and training full techniques and arsenals. Steward's style is to mentally and physically break the opponent in the first part and to take out the opponent in the later part with a more aggressive approach (of the same style). Steward has that well prepared and well demonstrated in the gym. Unfortunately Steward cannot make Wlad transition to that more aggressive approach in a fight when the time is there (when the opponent is clearly beaten or overclassed). It's probably a mental/confidence issue as most people have pointed: Due to this there is rarely bad intentions in his fights. Even in the fights where he is clearly oversuperior to his opponents in all departments.
I wouldn't image for a second that Steward only teaches threee punches. What he has taught Wlad, be it footwork, grappling, distance etc has all led to Wlad being able to dominate with three punches. Don't think I wrote anywhere that Steward was short changing Wlad. As for the underlined text Wlad already does this. As per my Peter example. It's not his fault they all fold after a couple of minutes.
Not really IMO. He still doesn't switch to the more aggressive phase when the opponent or situation allows to (and when steward calls for it). He stays in the overcautious phase (while the opponent is ready to go).
What is funny is Wlad was known for his punching power, that is why he was first put on TV. When people question his KO percentage all I have to say is 56 wins 49 by knockout. By the Way Wlad's KO % is higher then Ibeabuchi, Nonito Donaire, Darchinyan, Tszyu, and Pacquiao so what the **** you talking about? Have you ever seen the man fight?
Noone said p4p you ass goblin, and yes greater then Ali. Ali was a media made fighter, obviously you would never understand having only watched the sport for 2 years like you said in an earlier post.
So fight his on damn brother? You are a savage and a disgusting human being to even want to see something like that. You do realize these guys pound each other senseless? Men have died in the ring, how would you like to be the cause of your own brother's death? Guess you arent domesticated probably **** outdoors and wipe your ass with leaves.
These fighters are bigger and stronger then ever before. How is it piece of **** logic? It is like saying Rocky Marciano would be a champion. He wouldn't even be a contender. Cruiserweight probably would be champion, but heavyweight you got to be shitting me.
Media made fighter, has win over fighters 10 times better than anyone Wlad ever beat:hi: Before you jump to defent this, idid not say they are better than Wlad but clearly better than the guys Wlad beat!
First of all, when you constantly talking size, you are downgrading K brothers skill, they are skilled that is why they rule, Helenius, Fury, SNV... are big, but every ATG heavyweight no matter how "small" would beat them easy, so its not size its the skill that counts!!!
Maybe so, I say his biggest win was a George Foreman who ran out of gas. Being from Philly I have much love for Joe Frazier however I think he was very limited, and was made to look good because they needed to make Ali seem more legitimate. Also, before anyone says Sonny Liston PLEASE everyone knows that the mafia influence in boxing was very heavy, and them fights were not only fixed, but I could just about guarentee Sonny Liston's past fights were also fixed.
Both Klitschko brothers are very skilled fighters. I'd say Wlad is the more technically skilled, bigger puncher, but Vitali can take more of a beating. Being big can be very beneficial especially 4-7 inches and 25-50lbs of muscle worth.
