The problem seems to me Khan sticks to Roach's to the word and they train around their plan in the camp, now if Roach underestimated Peterson which he even said he did Khan gets into trouble, and the way Peterson was bulling Khan it gave Khan problem and made it hard for him the adjust, Khan has not fought many pressure fighters so this again was a learning fight, and the loss on record will push him hard to improve. They need to have a few gamplans so if one don't work they switch up. Khan does not like going back or fighting on the inside so they need to work on that. Roach now knows how Peterson can attack so thier prep and camp will try to combat this.

I think its safe to say Roach is a good enough trainer to have tried to have teached him a inside game before now, my guess is that, Khan has problems with it because A. he is thick B. he don't listen and C. is not skilled enough to carry it out, you keep telling yourself its Roach's fault.
